Re: Seeburg 222 restoration

Ron thx for the advice I will get some graphite grease, I don't recall there being a felt pad on the worm gear housing?
Is this a part that perishes and requires replacement?

Re: Seeburg 222 restoration

Ron thanks for the advice I was already heading down your preferred path so will continue that way. I have removed the hard to reach screw, looks as if the brake cam is now stopping the stripper plate from being removed. Can you confirm that the roll pin located behind the brake cam needs to be remo...

Re: Seeburg 222 restoration

Guys I need some advice I made a start on swapping the 60hz gear and worm shaft to a 50hz gear I have removed the two tapered pins holding the two gear assemblies but can't slide the shaft far enough to slide the 60hz gear off the shaft. It looks like I have to remove the turntable to allow the shaf...

Re: SHFA1 recap tips

Ron the red dot was on the cathode side of the diode, I've allways thought of the positive side being the anode side?
I have replaced the two diodes as per the drawing below,
3/4 of the way through the recap this must be up there with the worst amp to recap?

Thanks for the reply Rob look forward to seeing what changes you recommend.

Re: Seeburg TSU1 recap

Guys recap is complete, I initially powered the TSU1 up using a dim bulb tester and all seemed ok.
All voltages seem to be ok.
Thank you for all the advice/ help.

SHFA1 recap tips

Hi I've just finished recapping a Seeburg TSU1 and it's now time to turn my attention to the SHFA1 amp. All caps are original and require replacing, compared to the TSU this looks a real bitch to recap. As per the TSU1 is there any mods I should be performing to make this amp more reliable? Any tips...

Re: Seeburg TSU1 recap

Thanks once again Rob / Ron. I'm going to try and repair the 6 prong socket, i noticed today that the pickup plug has had a RCA socket installed and the mute wiring had been cut so I'm guessing this machine has had a different amp installed previously. So I am also looking for the 3 pin plug for the...

Re: Seeburg TSU1 recap

Thanks Rob really appreciate the help thought I'd make a start today and recap and check resistors on the pulse amp previous owner must have had problems with a intermittent contact between J509 socket and P502 plug so they built up the pins with solder. The result was when the pulse amp was removed...
