Re: Wurlitzer 2150 Wallbox thoughts/questions

I am completely flummoxed by this one. Letter selection works perfectly, 100%, never a miss. Number selection is a crap shoot. Yesterday, I thought I had it figured out. 1-4 selected fine; however, 5 - 0 were one behind (i.e., 5 played 4, 6 played 5, etc.). So it has to be an issue with contact 5 no...

Re: Wurlitzer 2150 Wallbox thoughts/questions

Man I swear ain't nothing easy. I figured I would start by checking the stepper, clean everything, check the leaf switches, etc. In order to do a thorough job, I needed to remove it. No problem, right? Well as I was disconnecting the plugs that attach underneath the changer mechanism, I reached up a...

Re: Wurlitzer 2150 Wallbox thoughts/questions

Leaving the whole coin issue aside (I actually am thinking I can rig it up for free play pretty easily), I have an issue with the selection. Letters work fine, numbers do not 1 initiates 7, 2 >8, 3>9 and everything else initiates 0. It seems to me to be one of two things. 1) the letter contact 'wipe...

Re: Wurlitzer 2310S, renovation is now finished. Check in the video!

Very nicely done and extremely thorough job! (I have a Stanton 500 AL II DJ Pro. They seem to appear periodically on e-bay. I think maybe Rob pointed me in this direction. While my jukebox is older 2150, the conversion to a magnetic cartridge required switching out the tonearm to one of the later mo...

Re: Wurlitzer 2150 Wallbox thoughts/questions

I'm surprised I'm having issues figuring this out since goofy is in my sweet spot! Thanks Rob, that's actually very helpful. While I knew the brass 'lever' was the thing that was tripped by the coin and, in turn, tripped the microswitch, for the life of me, I could not figure out what the black meta...

Re: Wurlitzer 2150 Wallbox thoughts/questions

I admit it befuddles me. The first thing I did was to jump it but it didn't seem to do anything. That whole credit mechanism with the multiple posts makes no sense to me. I simply can't wrap my head around how the devil a different sized coin will actually initiate credits. The switch is micro and i...

Re: Wurlitzer 2150 Wallbox thoughts/questions

Well, I tend to use micro switch in the generic I'm not sure it is even made by Micro. What I have found (at least as it pertains to pinball) is that the 'tang' is unique to the application. In this case it is just a long piece of wire that serves to actuate (similar to the end of play switch on the...

Re: Wurlitzer 2150 Wallbox thoughts/questions

Thought I already posted so maybe I posted in a different thread...hard as hell getting old! Anyhoo, after cleaning, lube and checking things out, I discovered the microswitch that registers on the drop of a coin isn't working. So any recommendations of where to source this? Or just the usual suspec...

Re: Wurlitzer 2150 Wallbox thoughts/questions

Yes, that's it. It looked complete to me as well, but then again, I don't know what 'complete' looks like :D
I'll clean, lube, set gaps and cross my fingers!
Thanks

Re: Wurlitzer 2150 Wallbox thoughts/questions

I pulled the trigger on a Wurlitzer 5250 wallbox (actually won an auction on ebay). My wife did not share my enthusiasm for the purchase... seems like women always ask irrelevant questions like 'where are you going to put it?" or "how are you going to make sure no wires show?" (Now, t...

Re: Wurlitzer 2310S Magazine Motor doesn't run

Yours looks to be in so much better shape than my 2150 was so I suspect all will be fine. I'm sure you know this; however, you can manually rotate the main cam counterclockwise (when viewed from above) to verify the 'cycle' works properly (raising the arms to load the records, set the spindle, needl...

Let me know if you need me to take a picture of the start position (I have a 2150 with the same mechanism)

Re: Wurlitzer 2150 Wallbox thoughts/questions

C'mon Rob, we've had enough interaction for you to know my technical acumen is hovering around a 9. Unfortunately, that would be on a scale of 1-100 with 1 being 'which end of the plug goes into the wall?' Actually, since I have a couple of pinballs, the whole stepper system was about the only part ...

Wurlitzer 2150 Wallbox thoughts/questions

I'm thinking about getting a wallbox. The good news is that the 2150 comes with the stepper and, near as I can tell, everything looks to be in great shape. (The only thing on that jukebox that was in great shape, by the way. Seems like that clear plastic cover did it's job). First question. Am I an ...

They may cost a bit more, but I tend to find that in numerous occasions they perform better, tolerate abuse better, and eliminate callbacks.
RCA, GE, Sylvania, etc... all can't be beat.

Thanks
