Re: My DS100 restoration thread.

My manual is the correct copy from one of the suppliers, the only thrust adjustment I could find was for the TT and clutch. After going through everything again and also what you suggest above with no issues I broke down and bought new motor mount grommets, that seems to have reduced the turntable i...

Re: My DS100 restoration thread.

Motor Coupler is installed correctly per your manual, I followed what little the seeburg manuals had for thrust gear set-up and I did grease both bearings. If I hold the clamp arm onto the record there is no change.

I will just have to re-read and check it all over again.

Re: My DS100 restoration thread.

So I have the new Turn table thrust bearing, and I made sure the top bearing on the worm drive is cleaned and oiled and that did not help with the whoop/wobble sound so I took the motor apart to clean it up thus leading into my question's 1. How do I know if the grommets on the top and the bottom of...

Re: My DS100 restoration thread.

Hi Brad, Iffin you can move it within the shaft--you'z lucky. To remove it-use a good penetrating oil, then take a powerful magnet and "tap it"--it will come out --sooner or later. In case your parts book does not say (MOST don't), it's a .187 steel ball. You still have not stated what yo...

Re: My DS100 restoration thread.

Rob/Ron So I had a few minutes at lunch to look at this a bit, and I took out the bearing at the worm gear above the motor I had that oiled like crazy and the bearing looks good I then took off the trust screw casting to check out that bearing again and under bright light it does have a flat spot :c...

Re: My DS100 restoration thread.

Hi Brad, Impossible to tell what it is without hearing--more info needed-- When, do you hear this --start/end of a record, during a record ? -With tone arm lifted from record, or not? Re: My DS100 restoration thread.

Just when I though it was safe to go back in the water, I have another annoying sound coming from this DS100. whooo whooo............. whooo whooo...............whooo whooo.............. I am positive it is coming from interference from the mechanism through the pickup so I was going to repla...

Re: My DS100 restoration thread.

Brad If you are referring to the "SEEBURG" logo in the top glass, Victory Glass has the red plastic ones for $10.00 while JukeboxUSA has the blue logo for $12.00. Best Darrell Darrell I am blind for sure I looked at the suppliers and did not see any. I always order from victory glass and ...

Re: My DS100 restoration thread.

NOPE--You NEED to do one more thing--Either, put your name, or the "Seeburg sign", in the slide-in above the word "presents"-- Ron Rich I have been looking for the "Seeburg" sign but have been unable to find another. I bought my last one for twenty bucks I should have ...

Re: My DS100 restoration thread.

Ron Thanks Ron, yes there are vendors that sell them, unfortunately they do not provide pictures of what you will get. I thought Brad's looked very close to original is why I was asking as it would give me an idea of what his supplier was offering. Best Darrell Both the top and the bottom glass are...

Re: My DS100 restoration thread.

Firstly happy fathers day to all on the board. Ron, Unfortunately the markings of manufacture are long gone, just the tube type and country are still visible. As far as the 6973 the envelope is the same, from what I can tell the heater on this is about an 1/8th inch probably six times bigger than th...
