Thanks Ron. On another note... know anything about the golden bar on these things? I am doing the cabinet restore on this now for the customer and notice the golden bar does not work.
Here is the fix. Mute switch was stuck and glad I bought an amp for this as the old one, and I am not sure how, but it kinda sort of worked but the replacement sounds much cleaner. Thanks Robert Ron and Rob for the assistance.
Ron I tried what you said it did not change. I did flip the reversing switch and it's changed now to cycling pick up and release record. I shot 2 small videos and emailed them to you.
Thanks Guys. The caps are all burned. There is a spaghetti mess of homemade wiring in there. The cancel switch is snapped. And it has multiple exposed wires going to it. They even went as far as rigging the power switch and using epoxy to seal splices.

Thanks Jeff that what I thought you were saying. I can't manually move the mech.
Rob it's not completing the cycle. It returns the record arm then it freezes. Power cycling it the motor jumps a little then freezes. Also the record arm is beyond the record magazine.

So I traced the short back to the amp. When I full removed the amp I noticed someone has been having fun. No fuses all wire jumpers. Lots of evidence of a positive smoke test in this thing. I have a replacement on the way. Thanks for the help guys.
