I was playing my 1954 The Fisher model 101 record player today, And into about 30 to 40 minutes of play it started squealing and then it started smoking out the back very lightly? Have always heard about this but never actually seen it happen. What would be the cause of this?

I recently acquired a BSR UA25 changer and It play's really well until the end of the last record. Sometimes it will play it, sometimes it wont? I have read online about a delay, slider arm something that sometimes sticks, But I have no clue what that part is or where it is located on these changers...
