Removing plastic light cover on Seeburg M100C

Hi, Can anyone tell me the best way to remove the curved translucent plastic that covers the rotating light cylinder? I need to work on one of the gears but am having trouble accessing it from the back because the coin mechanism is in the way. I'd like to remove the plastic so i can access the light...

Re: Seeburg M100C problem

Update - There was power going to the motor. The problem was a blown capacitor on the motor. For anyone that may experience this issue in the future -- I was able to diagnose this problem by placing my finger on the motor and flipping the service switch. If you feel an ever so slight pulse, you know...

Re: Seeburg M100C problem

Any chance it is this fuse? I'm having trouble determining whether it is blown or not, because the glass is so cloudy.

Re: Seeburg M100C problem

Ron, Turning the service switch to off does turn off the 5U4 bulb. Do you have any idea why the motor would have lost power? I'm looking in the diagrams now but don't see anything called a motor cap. Sorry for my ignorance on the matter, as I am a beginner. Can you please advise what steps I can tak...

Re: Seeburg M100C problem

Ron,

All the tubes are pretty faint. The top of the 5U4 tube is light up, but the bottom does not appear to be. Maybe this photo (attached) will help.

Re: Seeburg M100C problem

Ron, Yes, the 5U4 tube is warm. As far as the service switches, are you referring to what is labeled in the diagram as the scan motor service switches which are located under the record carriage? I flipped them both, no change. The bottom switch doesn't actually stay down, it just clicks down and ri...

Re: Seeburg M100C problem

Hi. I received the service manual a few days ago and have read through it. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find a detailed diagram of the WSR inside the service manual (anyone have a page number?) Anyway, I removed the outer casing of the WSR to take a look. I think I have identified the latchbar sol...

Re: Seeburg M100C problem

The only other detail I can add is that there is usually a loud "pop" when I turn the machine on right as it is starting up. When I turn it on now, I'm not hearing that familiar "pop".

Seeburg M100C problem

Today when I started up my Seeburg It was non-responsive. The jukebox did power on and the lights came on, however the record selector would not budge. There is a record in the selector but the needle is not touching it (as if the record ended and there were no new selections). When I use the keys t...

Seeburg 100 C - Sporadic selector problem

My Seeburg works great most of the time. Every once in a while the selector stops working properly. Normally the bush buttons on the selector give reasonable amount of resistance when pushed. When the selector stops working properly, the buttons give no resistance when I push them and they obviously...

Polishing chrome on seeburg 100c

Any suggestions for what type of chrome polish and process to do the polishing? Maybe I am overthinking this, I'm ready to use any old chrome polish and get to it with a rag, but I just wanted to check here first to see if anyone had some insight.

Thanks

Re: Seeburg 100 C - Pin bank cancel problem

Got it. Didn't realize there was one on the other side. I got back there and maneuvered it a little with my hand and put a little contact cleaner on the end of the plunger. Not sure exactly what, I did but it's working now. Canceling selections as it should. This thing is now working better than it ...

Re: Seeburg 100 C - Pin bank cancel problem

The plunger (small piece with a hole at the end circled in red in my previous photo) does not move when a record is selected from the bottom row. It works as it should when a record is selected from the top row. Don't think it's stuck since it works sometimes, maybe a power or contact issue?
