Re: Wurlitzer 5250 wallbox selections always release latch pin A0 on 2150 jukebox

Are you referring to the wiper inside the wallbox? It appears to have 3 contacts set in a triangular position? Yes. The motor in the wallbox has a shaft with a pin that goes through it. The wiper mechanism has two pins in it. The pin in the shaft is supposed to be positioned between the two pins on...

Re: Wurlitzer 5250 wallbox selections always release latch pin A0 on 2150 jukebox

I have a 5250 connected to my 2150 and am confused by a couple of things you have said. First, the selections are identical between the two, meaning that I print two identical jukebox strips when I get new records. One goes in the jukebox, the other in the wall box. I had a number of issues with my ...

Re: Transporting Wurlitzer 2300

Man, holding out on us with this little gem: Over time the indexing of the rockers (hammers) becomes a bit sloppy, the hammers to get wedged between two pins. Sometimes this can be dealt with by tightening-up the clearances of the nylon guide rollers that center the rocker-gear plate. My solution wa...

Re: 532 amp and 12AX7 tube

Brooks, My bet is on the tube socket--got some "Deoxit-5" ? Clean the socket with it and see if that helps -- Ron Rich I tend to "pinch" the socket connectors on tube equipment to make a better contact. After decades of heating/cooling, the metal clips becomes "weak", ...

Re: 532 amp and 12AX7 tube

Yes, I've got Deoxit, so I'll give that a shot and see if the old tube works
Thanks

Re: 532 amp and 12AX7 tube

Yes, I had Bill Bickers rebuild the amp when I first got the jukebox a couple of years ago. He replaced the capacitors and any other failed components, checked the traces and reflowed as needed and set it up to take the non-Cobra cartridge. I have also checked it out and reflowed a couple of traces....

Re: 532 amp and 12AX7 tube

Hi Brooks, That's almost--no, it is, a "chicken-egg question". When you can answer my question about how long a new lamp I just installed, will burn, you should have a good idea as to the correct answer for your question ! Well, that's actually easy to answer. It will burn out at the most...

532 amp and 12AX7 tube

Some of you may remember last October, my Wurlitzer 2150 started acting up. The volume would go very loud, then drop back to normal, then loud and so on. The fix was simply replacing the 12AX7. I say 'the' since my amp only needs one. When I had it re-capped and converted to handle a ceramic cartrid...

Re: Buzzing sound after pressing selection buttons on Wurlitzer 2150

Hi Bob, Well, it stops every time it blows the fuse, don't it ?? What more coodya want ?? Ron Rich Put in a big honking fuse...that'll take care of it? My 2150 does this but, as Ron notes, it's usually pretty short. Being more familiar with pinballs, I recognize the noise as the characteristic coil...

Re: Front center grill for Wurlitzer 2150

The answer is yes, it is removed from the outside. HOWEVER, you have to remove parts and pieces to actually slide it out. (Caveat, there may be some other fancy way to do this, so this is based on my experience). The grill simply slides into the two channels and then some small nails hold it in plac...

Re: Wurlitzer 2000 - Record lift arm issue

I'm pretty sure it is the same mechanism as my 2150. As noted, both arms attempt to raise at the same time. One duckbill is centered in a record slot, the other between slots; therefore, one rises and the other is stopped by the record divider. Mine rises a fair amount. In fact, if you were to stop ...

Re: Wurlitzer 2150 Wallbox thoughts/questions

Fish paper makes sense. As for the roll pin, it appears to be integrated into the wheel so there is no way to push it out. I suspect, the simply replaced the entire wiper assembly. Maybe I'll see if Bill Butterfield has one lying around so I can have a spare. (I know he has some parts and pieces for...

Re: Wurlitzer 2150 Wallbox thoughts/questions

I may test the limits for max characters on a posting, but here goes. Using my DMM to check pulses, I discovered that I could only test it manually. If I powered it on, the pulses were too hard to differentiate. However, I could make a selection and then turn the shaft through it's sequence slowly e...

Re: Wurlitzer 2150 Wallbox thoughts/questions

Thanks Rob...no capacitors laying around. I don't have a 28V bulb, so I was working around that. The stepper seems to be operating very smoothly, advances, resets back to home, etc. Looks like I need to bite the bullet and get a bulb so that I can localize the issue to the wallbox or the stepper. Th...

Re: Wurlitzer 2150 Wallbox thoughts/questions

I've looked at the rotor multiple times. On the wallbox, the same rotor is used for both the letter and number selection. There are 20 contacts for the letters and 10 for the numbers. The rotor hits the letters first, then continues around to get the numbers. The fact that the letters work makes me ...
