It says 257 right next to the socket for those two so im pretty sure thats right

ohhhhh that makes sense then. These bulbs are for the 'insert coin' and 'press reset' which you WOULD want to flash.
I'll stop being cheap and order some then, thanks!

well they do sell 53s which are everywhere else just not these ones
Physically the ones they sell fit, im just not 100% sure of the voltage, i think its 14v

Can anyone give me a modern equivalent of a #257 mini bulb
I know I can order the real thing but surely theres one at Autozone thats the same voltage and size

I dont know if anyones paying attention to this, but in case it helps someone else out in the future..... Chatted with an 'expert' on the phone and he said not to assume its the read-out carriage at all, and look below the scan/stop/run switch at the roller leaf switch to check that it cycles proper...

Well i havent gotten my manual yet but it seems I need a new read-out carriage The Arm on the right side (as you look at it from the front) of the selector wheel that detects when the read-on carriage has moved a tab. I think the solenoid or whatever it is is broken and the sensor to detect the tab ...

well I think i figured out the speed issue, this video showed me that very clearly whats sposed to happen http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=niKYU2X03yw Thanks to that I figured out how to keep the wheel onto the lower spindle to play at 45. Cant play 33s now but thats ok Not a real fix but a workaround...
