Re: Auto speed controller

Just as a note, I've had my AY with the transistorized speed unit for a few months now. I read the whole manual several times when I first got it and noted the venting warnings. My AY lives on very thick, dense carpet and the manual requires a 1" gap to the floor for venting. I discovered it ha...

Re: Wall-0-Matic 200 Rebuild

PROBLEM SOLVED! Sometimes it is best to set something aside for a while to gain a new perspective. Today I revisited my selection receiver. I am not sure how I saw a space in the clapper ratchet spring, it looks perfect today. It must have healed itself. One thing I hadn't serviced yet is the...

Re: Wall-0-Matic 200 Rebuild

Hello Rob/Ron. I did the light bulb test on the WOM. All rivets illuminate my test light by manually rotating the wiper, and there are no obvious missing light pulses when I power the WOM through a cycle. Therefore I assume the WOM is likely working properly... so I finished the last bit of work to ...

Re: Wall-0-Matic 200 Rebuild

Ok you guys are great. I rebuilt the receiver with all new caps. The 100 ohm 2w resistor was open so I replaced it too. The other resistors were ok. I cleaned all the relay contacts and put a drop of light oil on the letter/number rotor pivots and ratchet dog ears. The only thing I ever use WD40 for...

Re: Wall-0-Matic 200 Rebuild

Well I did good today. I have it all together, clean and kinda working. I say kinda working because I haven't got to cleaning the slug rejector yet and it rejects nickels. I'll sneak it in the next dishwasher cycle when the wife isn't looking  The accumulator wasn't too bad. A drop of oil on e...

Wall-0-Matic 200 Rebuild

My "new" WOM 200 model V-3WA-D arrived yesterday. I had won it in an ebay bid a couple weeks ago. The chrome is in fair condition and it seems pretty much complete except for a lock mech and cashbox, which is what I expected. However I wasn't expecting such a horrible mess inside. Geeze it...

Re: My Intro and a Seeburg AY-160

Please let me know if this is a really dumb idea. It's about the silver tips on the plungers for the Tormat memory unit. Mine are wore through, or nearly wore through to the brass and rounded. I understand they are supposed to be flat, not rounded. I think Ron or Rob mentioned something about stampi...

Re: Cleaning 45's

Are there any more faster techniques than glue? I just bought a crate of +600 45's of various condition. Got an excellent deal, about 9¢ apiece. Some are jukebox quality... New apperance, pristine and clear sounding. Some not quite so good and some that I wouldn't play on YOUR junk record player. I ...

Re: My Intro and a Seeburg AY-160

Wow Rob what an unexpected and wonderful write up. I hope to get my 160 and the WOM200 back into a condition where they will once again be reliable for a long future, just as I do with my EM pinball and other games so I will be taking the time to go through my WOM200. I am very anxious to get my WB,...

Re: Where to find 78's?

I have found 78's in the places already mentioned but some of my very best ones have been found at "junk" stores. These places are not thrift donation locations like GoodWill or "Thrift America" etc, but small road side buildings with a large variety of things laying outside. I m...

Re: Needle tracking pressure

Thank you all for the great suggestions. I got a gauge and set the pressure according to the procedure in the service manual, except a bit lighter to just under 4g's. Glad I did. The record side which I set a bit heavier a couple weeks ago came in under 3g's, and the other side which I didn't touch ...

Re: My Intro and a Seeburg AY-160

Funny thing is my wife didn't know what a WOM or wallbox was. She thought I was buying a whole jukebox. "What's he going to do with that big thing" she thought. So I found this cool picture of what I believe to be a 3W1 100 select WOM and now she understands what they are (I love to find o...

Re: My Intro and a Seeburg AY-160

Thank you -so much- Ron for the information. Looks like I'll go with the power cord for a poor man's cable. I'll just solder fast-on and spade lugs on the ends of the cable. Yea, you're right my switch doesn't show the receiver is working properly... Just that the tube is firing and it selects songs...

Re: My Intro and a Seeburg AY-160

Just thought I'd mention I have a WOM 200 coming in the mail. Hopefully have it by the first week of next month. I wanted to know if my selection receiver is working in the mean time. I have a nice 50ft run of 24g solid core wire (9 conductors) designed to be used for external sprinkler systems. I h...
