Re: Seeburg jukebox troubles

Ok Thank you Ron, I first want to be sure that it's a serious problem, because when I de-assembled the machine it did play records, so maybe it's just some small issue on lubrication or dirty contacts. I will take my time to check if I can do something on my own, if it doesn't work I will purchase y...

Re: Seeburg jukebox troubles

Hi Rob, I'm afraid that I don't understand much about what I have to do. My English isn't that good, and so is my knowledge of mechanics/ the machine.. What do you mean by the 'control unit' and the 'pulse amps'? So I just need to put some cables out, hold them against a battery for a second, put th...

Re: Seeburg jukebox troubles

Hello guys! I just found out that the type of my jukebox is a Seeburg LPC480. So, I still have the 'scans twice, doesn't play' problem. I will de-assemble my machine again and check if the mechanism (especially the clutch) is assembled in the right way. I will clean and lubricate everything that mov...

Re: Seeburg jukebox troubles

Hi Rob, Ron, I already have a service manual, but there is no Troubleshooting part.. Where can I see what type of jukebox I actually have? I thought it was a SS160 because somebody told me, but I'd rather see it on the machine to know it for sure. I've seen a lot of codes and serial numbers on it bu...

Re: Seeburg jukebox troubles

Hello, I don't have a Trouble shooting manual... The weird thing is that when I had my jukebox de-assembled to clean it, the motor would pick up and play the selected record. It's only after I re-assembled it that he stopped doing this. I'm actually a real amateur in working on any kind of mechanism...

Re: Seeburg jukebox troubles

Hello again! I've been able to solve the scanning problem (it were indeed those two upper screws who were missing), thank you guys so much for helping me, my jukebox can scan again! But now the initial problem still remains: when I push a record code to play while the motor stands still, the motor s...

Re: Seeburg jukebox troubles

Hi Ron, i understand it's difficult to understand my explanation, I'll try to explain it with an image. I pull on the piece of metal that is connected to the clutch (arrow 1), in that way, the gear seen on the image gets closer to the other gear that is not seen on this image (arrow 2). Then the two...

Re: Seeburg jukebox troubles

I'm afraid that this is indeed the problem. Before I started to work on it, it would scan perfectly, only when I re-assembled, the scan function didn't work anymore unless i pushed those gears together. I don't understand because i didn't remove the clutch, maybe something fell in and is blocking th...

Re: Seeburg jukebox troubles

Hi Ron I do have a service manual and I've looked up what wheels I mean. I think that it's the Clutch Shaft Gear that I need to push against the Helical Gear in order to make the motor scan. If i don't do this the motor wouldn't move and the two gears just shove against each other. The only thing I ...

Seeburg jukebox troubles

Hello! I have an old seeburg Jukebox Seeburg SS160 were I have been working on. My problem was as follows: the motor scans perfectly but when I wanted to play a song, he scans towards the record, picks it up, but pushes it back as soon as the needle touches it. A guy told me I had to de-assemble my ...
