Re: Do I have a Pooka in my house?

I used to have a Brunswick BR-260 with an electric motor turntable. Forgive me for being so technically ignorant here. ...but someone told me a while back that these were extremely early electric motors produced by Brunswick and there was something about the way they were made. ...that they give off...

Re: Sonora: Need Parts and Identification (pics)

78 RPM - Don't give up your eBay search, Sonora parts and machines may not come up as much as Victor or Edison, but I'd bet something will come up eventually. Well, this is nowhere near you, so don't know if this would be any help... but this may be the same machine? They're asking for $100. http://...

newest YouTube video

Hey Guys - Just wanted to share, I made a new YouTube video. (all my latest videos are in HD format) It's my "economy" 8-30. I've wanted a Credenza for a while, and I got this one dirt cheap. It has no legs and no grill, but it works for me. ;-) Enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rUgcZv...

Re: Latest Acquisition

Your family knows how to make you happy! :-) It is a great looking machine, no wonder it was Edison's fav. Hope it does clean-up nice, thanks for sharing.

...and yeah, never seen a DD split like that!

Edison Radio...?

Greetings - So, to begin... I am a phonograph, not a radio guy. I will be buying a phonograph from a guy this upcoming Saturday. He contacted me: "Do you like radios as well? I have an Edison R-5 radio for $100 if you are interested, no pressure." Can anyone tell me what an Edison R-5 radi...

Edison DD advice...

Greetings all - This Edison C-200 "Adam" is the latest addition to my collection. :-) Two questions... 1) It did not come with a cabinet key. Does anyone know what key works with this unit? ...or better yet is anyone selling one? :P 2) What can I do in terms of grill cloth. Aside from &quo...

my Zemerphone, beautiful but no info!

Hey Guys! So, I got this a month or two ago.. It was not in working condition then, but now it is. Hooray! I couldn't pass up on this unit, I thought it was too beautiful! (It was a decent price, but I took a day off from work just to schedule a road trip to pick it up!) So, I bring it here to the f...

Re: Boston Area Collector profiled...

I cringed when I read, "like something from another time - complete with the pop and hiss of the needle on vinyl;" but the writer probably has no idea what a shellac-based 78 rpm record is all about. I also question this statement: "Some say it sounds like crap, but others say that's...

Just for fun, "CD Phonograph"...

Came across this "CD Phonograph" on the web, thought I'd share just for fun. http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2005-8/1062892/phonographCDplayer.jpg A CD player was disassembled and the components rearranged to suit the layout of a phonograph. The speakers are put below the trumpet loudspeake...
