Seeburg HSC1 Mech & CCC Removal Help Needed

I am having a problem pulling out the mech from my HSC1. When I pull the mech, there is a hanging (spring) bar in the front left (viewed from front) that hits the transformer on the CCC. (see red on pic). I tried pulling the CCC but it does not pull towards the back (clamp bar removed). Any Hints? A...

Re: Removing Rockola 1422 Selector Buttons

Ron,

I figured it out while you where leaving the message.
The 3 buttons that I was working on were really stuck, the others came off fairly easily.

Enjoy the holidays with the family!

Removing Rockola 1422 Selector Buttons

I am wondering if there is a "trick" to remove the selector buttons from the Rockola 1422. Or is it just persuading them to come off?

Re: More Questions Rockola 1422 "O" amp

The candohm is definitely 2K,

It may be that it was replaced before, and someone grabbed a 2K instead of a 1K, either by mistake, or that's what they had.

I will make it 1K, and see how it sounds.

Thanks Everybody!

Re: More Questions Rockola 1422 "O" amp

I have completely removed the windings from the terminals of the candohm
.

cut, unwind a few turns, and superglue to keep remaining wire from unwinding.

I will pop it out and see if there is any stamping that can be read.

Re: More Questions Rockola 1422 "O" amp

The hole i have marked as TH2 is the filter choke. RTFM. I was thinking it was all transformers under those metal cases.

This lends more credence to the candohm being the "1K" resistor, though not sure of the value yet.

Re: More Questions Rockola 1422 "O" amp

I have removed the candohm from the circuit, just left it in the chassis with the 2K 10W resistor. It was open near one of the terminals. I made sure the resistor winding could not touch the terminals.

Another vote for the 1K 10W?

Which would be the correct value - 1K or 2K?

Re: More Questions Rockola 1422 "O" amp

That very well may be correct, the parts list for the amp only has 1 10W
resistor listed:
PH-3173 1K 10W

If that is the case, the part that was in there was 2K

More Questions Rockola 1422 "O" amp

I have some more questions on my Rockola 1422 Model "O" amp. 1) Where is candohm in schematic? I cannot find where it is :?: 2) I don't know where the two wires near the hole labeled "TH2" should go. 1 side was connected to 2 4K resistors (in parallel, to replace candohm), but wh...

Re: Rockola 1422 "O" Amp Volume/Tone Compensator

Yeah, I think my pot is toast.

Since it it so far gone, I will try further disassembly to see if I can find out where the open is (on both sides of the pot, so something is going on with the common swipe)

Failing that, I will take your suggestion.

Thanks for your input!

Rockola 1422 "O" Amp Volume/Tone Compensator

My "O" amp has a Volume Control & Tone Compensator build into a single pot package.

1 Winding is 2M, and the other is 50K

Does anyone know if there are any replacements available?
If not, Can I just replace it with 2 pots - what wattage?

Re: Replacement for 1M 10W Cardohm

Rob & Matt, You are both correct. I took out the candohm (just screws), and opened up the metal "can". There was a break by one of the leads. I measured 1 lead, and was able to determine it is a 2K resistor. It was very linear down the length of coiled wire. The manual says 1M 10W cand...

Replacement for 1M 10W Cardohm

I need to replace a 1M 10W cardohm resistor (open of course).
I cant find any wirewounds near that resistance, so I am looking for suggestions
of what to use for this.

Thanks Ron.
Do the motors need any oil - I don't see a place to put in any.
