I recently moved, and my movers unlocked the cabinet on my Diplomat to see how it worked. They didn't lock it back. Then, when they knocked it over, the cabinet flew open, shattering the glass. Ron, we cleaned it and worked it a few times to get it going good, and once it was back together CORRECTLY (oops), it works like a charm. Thanks for all the input, guys.

It's time to concede that I'm in way over my head. I set everything up exactly (or as close as I can get to) as the manual I have (same as those scans) shows. Now, nothing lines up.

O boy So everything is cleaned and replaced in as close to original position as I know (based on pictures, video, etc.). Granted, there is probably some detail I am overlooking. Because - the situation now is that the carousel will not turn. It seems that the cam and trunnion gears are not engaging ...

It's a greasy, gummy mess. I was surprised how easily it was removed. It's soaking now.

My AMI/Rowe Diplomat will not return a record to the carousel. It will retrieve one, play it, and attempt to return it, but it drops the record onto the turntable before it can return it. Any suggestions? The manual does not tell how to troubleshoot it.

I'm not entirely sure I understand what you mean. The arm does move pretty slow when attempting to return a record. Sometimes, I grips the album and then drops it as though the rear "plunger" at the base of the arm is prematurely withdrawing.

The unit below the selection buttons was loose. I snapped it back into place. The selection keys do not engage and release as they should. The manual mentions something about diodes and an RI unit. This is a foreign language for me.
