Re: Rockola 441 Deluxe 1967 - 1969 - Speed Problem.

Well Shoot. I never claimed to have the best maintenance routine. I guess I should lube and oil it more. I probably do more frequently than 30+ years. It gets very little use. I power it up about every two weeks or so, or maybe less frequently and run 4 or 6 records through it just to keep it alive....

Re: Rockola 441 Deluxe 1967 - 1969 - Speed Problem.

I had a "slightly slow" problem when I first bought my 425. I took the turntable motor apart, cleaned both ends of the shaft and the respective sleeves, oiled it and put back together. That solved my problem. That was 40 years ago. I had a "slightly slow" problem a few years ago....

Re: Rockola 425 Volume input on amp - bypass?

I've never even looked at, let alone touched that connection on my 425. The last photo in the thread looks almost like the wires were inserted in hollow pins and soldered at the tips. If it looks like solder at the tips, then maybe you could heat up a pin and pull a wire out, re-strip, and replace. ...

Re: What do you play in your jukebox?

I'm so lazy. My juke is filled with 60s 70s Rock. I run it every week or two. I've got one 33 1/3 record in there (Gallows Pole, Led Zeppilin) that I use just to exercize the function. Rather than make title strips and reload, I skip around the records I don't like. No rhyme or reason to what is in ...

Thoughts Anyone?

My Jukebox has a visible mechanism. Yes I like to look in there, watch all the action, watch the record play, and if it hesitates anywhere I can see what is going on. I wouldn't be interested in purchasing one that didn't have that feature. Thoughts about visibility? Would it sway your desirability ...

Re: Newbie moving a Rockola 444.

Good question. Assuming it has the same mechanism as my 425 make sure you tighten the four mechanism bolts down all the way . They lock the springs that let the mechanism float. Take the turntable platter off. Tie the tone arm down. Strap any cables down that may be laying on the bottom of the cabin...

Re: Rockola 442 Question

You might want to make sure that it will play your "small hole" British singles at 45rpm. My 425 is a dual speed Juke. Small holes drop it into 33 1/3. 442 might be the same. Someone else on this forum should know.

Re: Storing a Jukebox

My 425 Grand Prix has survived 4 moves quite nicely. Pretty much plug and play after the moves. Different model than yours, but I could swear my service manual has unpacking or shipping instructions. Like Rich suggests. That's all I've ever done. I worry more about some mover breaking the glass.

Somewhere on the internet, I saw a photo of a Led zeppelin 45 that said 8:00. Correct or not, who knows.

Re: AMI model F plays slow

Wouldn't larger tires turning at a certain RPM make your car go faster than small tires turning with that same RPM? Much like the situation in my dual speed Juke. Wouldn't the motor shaft (constant RPM) driving either of two sized tires (the different shaft diameters) change the rotational speed of ...
