Re: Thoughts on a tweeter for M100C

Mounting the tweeter co-axially is ideal simply because you don't need to cut another hole. There should be plenty of space given the depth of the 15" woofer. Rob Rob (and others), Basic question #74: Presume it's ok for me to try (test phasing, etc) with my new tweeter and crossover with the ...

Re: Thoughts on a tweeter for M100C

Rob, as always your posts are incredibly informative - thank you. And yes, MattTech, you're right, I will try the various options (I'm just always keen to ask experts they advice in case there are any tips or more importantly, pitfalls I can avoid). Rob, one last (for now!) question on tweeter place...

Re: Thoughts on a tweeter for M100C

Thanks, Rob. A new option is now on the table, due to human kindness! When I bought this M100C the couple said their dad also had a wallbox and teardrop speaker, and if they found them, they would call me. Two months later they call to say they found them in her basement and they are mine - how nice...

Re: Thoughts on a tweeter for M100C

Ron, not sure about various sizes, but I would always recommend http://www.pbresource.com. While they are really the go-to place for EM's their web-site is a little, well, dated - so I always use google to search it, then Ctrl+F once on the page, for example, enter this in google: contacts site:pbre...

Re: Thoughts on a tweeter for M100C

Thanks Rob, So, something like this?: http://www.simplyspeakers.com/product.asp?itemid=983&gdftrk=gdfV22844_a_7c646_a_7c3417_a_7cA_d_1300&gclid=CLe5y5iw3scCFZKRHwod_GILzg And if so, I assume I unsolder wires from original 15" speaker and connect them to the "in" terminals, the...

Thoughts on a tweeter for M100C

Hi all, I have found an original speaker for my M100C in good condition to replace the non-original that was in mine. At some point a tweeter was also fitted to mine, with a capacitor (I understand that's called a "crossover" but I would have no idea how to check its the right type/spec :o...

M100C - a cut wire?

(My usual disclaimer first that I am super-new to all this!) I noticed yesterday this wire has been cut IMG_2321.JPG Its not the "selection now playing" lamp as that works. Could it be the pop meter solenoid as per a previous post, my pop meter is completely gummed up and worn - would some...

Re: Ease of replacing populairty meter unit on M100C?

Ron, I think its the light/photo - mine looks like nylon too but when I touch it, its metal.

If we assume its correct, any thoughts on my questions?

thanks!

Ease of replacing popularity meter unit on M100C?

I realize that the pop meter has no affect on the enjoyment of the machine, but mine is very worn (numbers missing from the wheels) and completely gummed up, and I'd like, just for own peace of mind, to have this looking nice and working if I can. I have an option to buy a used one in much better sh...

It's working! Needle brushes on stripper plate hits the needle on M100C with Pickering 345-03D

Hi, my recently acquired M100C did not have a stripper plate top / brushes (I think I know why...read on). After fitting my new parts, I knew from the manual that there should be 1/32" clearance between the brush and the non-playing needle. It's ok on the left side, but on the right side, even ...

Re: Weather strip / foam to cushion the cabinet glass on M100C?

Quick update to say I am very happy with the weather strip I purchased. It went on easily, I think it looks neat, and appears, at least so far, to adhere well.

Re: Weather strip / foam to cushion the cabinet glass on M100C?

Thanks, Ron

The 2nd photo is the front - here it is from a different angle...I'm assuming this does not require the weather strip?
