Re: Using a Seeburg 3W1 Select-O-Matic with

Alright guys, here is the latest breakdown of my Seeburg 3W1 to 100G integration: To fill everyone in on the whole story: I have a Seeburg 100G and a 3W1 wall box. The 100G amp has been previously rebuilt (caps and resistors) but the selector unit was mainly original. What I have done to the selecto...

Re: Using a Seeburg 3W1 Select-O-Matic with

Ok, status update: At the Seeburg selector unit (in jukebox) I replaced the broken 47ohm resistor at the 2050 anode and 5uf Cap. 2050 tube still not responding to signal from 3W1 or any tests (I even tried to ground the blue signal wire that feeds pin 5 of the 2050 grid). The tube has the normal Amb...

Re: Using a Seeburg 3W1 Select-O-Matic with

Rob, I am going to start with replacing all of the old caps and that one broken resistor. As far as the transformer it looks original. Since the initial problem seems to be that the 2050 isn't receiving the signal from the 3w1 and I checked at the 3 pin plug, which was strong, and the tube tested go...

Re: Using a Seeburg 3W1 Select-O-Matic with

The clipped wire is in the 100G. This is the latest: I did a test with a 24v light bulb. I used the 25v+ wire and the signal. On both ends the light bulb flickers when a selection is made. So it appears that the 3W1 is operating properly, and that the cable connecting the two is adequate. While insp...

Re: Using a Seeburg 3W1 Select-O-Matic with

Tony, the 5 MFD is a non-polarized type because it is used for AC. You can get a "motor start' cap of 5MFD @200 volts ot more, or you can use what I use: http://s1192.photobucket.com/user/Rob-NYC/media/IM001943_zps560dbbc8.jpg.html?sort=2&o=1 Those are Mylar caps as used in a Seeburg stepp...

Re: Using a Seeburg 3W1 Select-O-Matic with

Check the 100 ohm resistor on the tube plate circuit. Be sure that the large 5mfd capacitor in the 2050 plate circuit has been replaced. Rob/NYC Rob, you mentioned replacing the 5mfd cap in the 2050 plate circuit. I have located it and it is the original. I noticed that it is in a square metal case...

Re: Using a Seeburg 3W1 Select-O-Matic with

Thanks Rob. This confirms that it is a J/R mod. No transformer, no leaf switch, God only knows what else! What did the leaf switches do? I assume that is where the blue wires went. What was the purpose of this mod? Removing the lighting transformer, removing switches, nickel play only, etc. is this ...

Re: Using a Seeburg 3W1 Select-O-Matic with

I have ordered the manual. Still in the mail. Dimes and quarters get rejected. Seems to be a true 5c model 3W1.

Thanks.

Re: Using a Seeburg 3W1 Select-O-Matic with

Upon further inspection I noticed that the wires tied together are two blue wires that lead back to the letter/number key pad, they are tied to a third wire that is grounded behind the stepper selection wheel. Does anyone have a clue what this would be done for? It doesn't have free play, a nickel m...

Re: Using a Seeburg 3W1 Select-O-Matic with

More great info. I am not sure where it came from. But there is a small wire nut on the selector wires. It looks like 1 orange wire tied to 2 blue wires. Any idea what they are for? The credit function operates normally. After dropping a nickel in, 1 credit is applied (green light goes on). After 1 ...

Re: Using a Seeburg 3W1 Select-O-Matic with

Thank you! That is very helpful. Have you ever heard of using cat5E Ethernet cable to connect a 3W1 to the jukebox? The only way I have to connect the two units is to use the existing Ethernet cable run through my house. The cable has 8 24 gauge wires twisted in pairs. I figure I can untwist 1 pair ...

Using a Seeburg 3W1 Select-O-Matic with

Hello. I am a new jukebox collector. I have a Wurlitzer 412 and a Seeburg 100G. I recently bought one of the 3W1 remote units (5cent model). When I place a nickel in it shows 1 credit (green light) but doesn't credit the 100g and after I make the selection the motor runs and selection wheel seems to...

Re: Jukebox Lubrication

Hey guys. I have been using Liberty Synthetic oil (see attached photo) on my Wurlitzer 412 Juke. It works very well to quiet the motor, but quickly wears off leaving the motor noisy again. Do I need to use a thicker oil? It sounds like horses walking on pavement.
