Re: Juke Displays Wrong Selection + Picks Up Wrong Disc On Certain Numbers.

Ron and Clones, Thanks for all of the helpful information, it's like I have a tech here telling me what to do step by step. I really appreciate it. With that said, I hooked up the multimeter (on DCv) to the pink wire at low voltage and to a ground....the voltage read below 9 at around 6. I adjusted ...

Re: Juke Displays Wrong Selection + Picks Up Wrong Disc On Certain Numbers.

Ron,

Thanks for the input. I'm going to head off to HomeDepot to pick up a multimeter. Any pointers on from where to where I will be measuring the voltage? I scan the manual as well once I am home to see if I can find that answer.

Thanks.

Re: Juke Displays Wrong Selection + Picks Up Wrong Disc On Certain Numbers.

Clones, Thanks for getting back. Is it safe to say its the ICs in the Logic Board if the 9.6v LED is lit on the board of the Power Supply, and the LED on the Opto lights as I use the scan switch to scan through the basket....Opto LED lights at every selection and turns off at the big gap between the...

Re: Juke Displays Wrong Selection + Picks Up Wrong Disc On Certain Numbers.

Okay, I went ahead and ran through some of the tests in the service manual, and when performing the test procedure for the Logic Board the only 100/200 were picked up (and the display read 110/210) and for the other selections the wrong records were picked up each time. I wanted some input before I ...

Re: Juke Displays Wrong Selection + Picks Up Wrong Disc On Certain Numbers.

Clones, Thanks for your reply. Over the weekend when I have time I will check out the areas you mentioned. Hopefully it is one of the two, and a simple fix! I did have to disconnect the ground wire when I took apart the lid frame to get it rechromed so I'll start there. I'll let you know how it goes...

Juke Displays Wrong Selection + Picks Up Wrong Disc On Certain Numbers.

Hello all, This forum has been extremely helpful and I wanted to say thank you to everyone's input. With that said, I recently completed a complete refurbishment of my Rockola 488, I sent the lid frame out to be rechromed, had the amp rebuilt, reconed some speakers, re-insulated the entire cabinet a...

http://www.jukebox-world.de/en/Jukebox-Parts-USA-oxid/Rock-Ola/Tempo-1-Tempo-2-1468-1485/TT-motor.html The above link is a photo of the motor in my Rockola 488, any chance you could indicate where the holes/tubes/oil points may be? I really appreciate it, you have been a great help. Owning a jukebo...

Re: Lubrication of different Jukebox Motors?

Ron, Thanks for the quick reply and the pointers. I believe two of the motors or cylinder shaped and one is a rectangular black box under the turntable mount. None of the motors have any visible holes, reservoirs, tubes, or flints. I wish they did! I assume now I must remove all three motors in orde...

Lubrication of different Jukebox Motors?

Okay guys, I haven't posted on here in a while as I have been refurbishing my RockOla 488 with that said I am now lubricating everything and I had some questions. I know the topic of Juke lubrication has been covered in detailed, and thankfully after reading older posts I feel I have a pretty good i...

Re: Rock-Ola Newbie Attemping to Refurbish

So On the power supply next to the amp there are some screws that are 3/16 and there is one on the amp but the rest of the little screws just don't fit any of the ratchet sizes. Got me scratching my head :? Any advice? Should I attempt to undo the shield wire from the tone arm up and ship out the am...

Re: Rock-Ola Newbie Attemping to Refurbish

Clones, Thanks for responding! I am dumbfounded, I have attempted 5mm and 3/16....too big, I went out and picked up a 4mm and a 5/32 too small wont fit. I thought maybe the screws edges had been stripped and that could be causing the 3/16 to slip? But no the screws edges seem intact...any ideas? Som...

Re: Rock-Ola Newbie Attemping to Refurbish

Guys, Thanks for the heads up about swapping the speakers, I did and the speaker I thought was blown no longer made that noise on the other side but the one I thought wasn't blown now made the sound on the other side. Furthermore being a new to vinyl and jukes, is the fan or motorboat sound (woooth ...

Re: Rock-Ola Newbie Attemping to Refurbish

Okay guys thanks for the heads up, I hadn't even thought about swapping the speakers to eliminate the potential issues that it could be. I will swap them tomorrow and test the sound and I let you guys know the results, thanks! I may end up having to send the amp out. Found someone who quoted me at $...
