Re: Seeburg LPC480

I replaced the motor and did a light sanding on the contacts. I powered it up and it starting working fine then it slowly died, then I manually rotated it and turned it off and back on and its working fine now. The motor I used was really ok'd looking and dirty. Its working but I'd like to get a bet...

Re: Seeburg LPC480

Ron, I got the motor cap and replaced it with no luck. It will not scan still. I'm trying to find a diagram that's shows where the O contacts are.. Would a problem with the O contacts happen from normal use?
Also how could I tell if the motor is bad or weak?

Re: Seeburg LPC480

ok, Ill try to test it. I have a capacitor farad meter around the shop somewhere. The writing on the cap is all worn off, do you happen to know off hand what the value is for it? And a good place to buy a new one (I usually buy caps from mouser.com )

Re: Seeburg LPC480

It will not scan in either direction by itself. Im guessing the "humming" sound is more of a vibration coming from the mech trying to move/scan, but its like its to weak to move. Where is the motor cap located? Is it the Auto Speed Motor Cap in the auto speed unit? or is it the large cap o...

Re: Seeburg LPC480

Ron, I got it all working great, it played great for about 40 plays then it suddenly stopped working. It's humming and it won't scan. I can spin the mech by hand and it will pick up a record and try to play by itself but it doesn't spin the record fast enough . Any thoughts?

Re: Seeburg LPC480

Ron, Can you look at this needle and tell me if the needle is broke? It seems like there is something missing from the middle. I have never seen a good one before since this is my first jukebox. I used your guide and cleaned it up really good and lubricated it. It picks the records up and seats them...

Re: Seeburg LPC480

okay, I did a cap kit on it and nothing changed.(it just scans back and forth forever, not twice but like 15 times) BUT.... I found a broken wire that connects to one of the pins that bounces up and down as it slides across the tormat pins. After I fixed that wire it I made a selection and it immedi...

Re: Seeburg LPC480

I'll read up more on cleaning the contacts before I try it. I know how to measure the voltages but the manual I got doesnt have the test plug style of TCC it shows posts. So I cant meter it until I can get a diagram of the test plug to see what the voltages are. Im considering ordering a cap kit off...

Re: Seeburg LPC480

Re: Seeburg LPC480

Ok, I used my multi meter on the Mute plug on the amp and all 3 wires are making good contact. The 3 wire plug on the TCC is also making good. I've been hesitant to mess with the contacts since I dont want to mis adjust them myself. Im looking for the mute relay now. I'm having trouble finding it, i...

Re: Seeburg LPC480

It appears to be connected. When pressed with the power on it activates a plunger that pulls out of a transformer under the keys(where the record letter and number is selected). It doesnt make anything else move though
