Storing a Jukebox

Hello,

I am moving because of work and have to store both of my jukes. My Rowe R-86 shows how to get it ready for moving but my Rock-Ola 464 does not; I could not find anything about moving or storage in the manual. Does anyone know what I need to do in order to secure the mech?

Thanks much,

Curtis

Re: Rockola 464 Cap Kit

Indeed, Ron, there are specific "procedures" that are imperative, and need to be followed for a successful repair. In my line of work I know of no viable "shortcuts" to specific repairing - some things just HAVE to be done "by the book". This, along with having the kno...

Re: Rockola 464 Cap Kit

Hi All, Strictly, IMHO, I have no problems with DIY'ers, or "amateurs" IF, they have a skill level that allows them to "do no harm". When I was young, I would try anything, as I have aged, I find it more practical to hire a pro, for most jobs. I am willing to help anyone with th...

Re: Rockola 464 Cap Kit

Ahh..... Like most electronics, jukes are not for the amateur to mess with. I wouldn't say that, how else are you supposed to learn if you don't try? I've repaired many electronics over the years, with the most recent being arcade's to inlcude the CRT chassis and wiring, but those too can st...

Re: Rockola 464 Cap Kit

When you take you amp in, why don't you take the DBV in also--I'll bet my bippie, that ol'Enos can fixked it too ! Please tell him I said "Hi"-- Ron Rich Good call Ron, I've been so frustrated with that amp and now trying to fix my R2D2's center foot, I just didn't even think of that. I w...

Re: Rockola 464 Cap Kit

I contacted Juke Doc of Ohio and am going to try and drop it off with them to get the amp repaired by an expert. I did replace the .25a fuses and one sound bank works but the other just keeps blowing that .25a fuse. Plus now it has tremendous hum no matter what and the turn on thump is much more as ...

Re: Rockola 464 Cap Kit

So I changed out the C44 2000MFD cap with the supplied one in my cap kit and no change. So in my infinite wisdom I decided to follow what one person did and up the capacitence in the output stage, but in my hast I hooked up the transformer wire to the wrong spot and now the right sound bank doesn't ...

Rockola 464 Cap Kit

Just got done installing my cap kit, hooked everything back up and it works but it seems like its lacking the bass it had before. I adjusted the input levels the best I could and I had to adjust the amps and volts as noted in the manual but that really didn't do too much. The mids are a bit more tha...

Re: Rockola 464

Ahhh, I was wondering if something was missing. Both the parts catalog and service manual only give one viewpoint so I couldn't tell for sure. But the parts catalog does mention a spring for the pawl. That makes sense now. Thanks a bunch!!

Re: Rockola 464

Thanks Ron. I checked the copper "U", the fuses, and the credit unit works. I got my trouble down to the selection impulse switch not being engaged properly and on a consistant basis. I adjusted the credit reset coil bracket in so that the switch gets pushed far enough to engage so the res...

Rockola 464

So I've had some time lately to mess with my 464 some more. It works right now but there are still a few kinks I'd like to iron out so it works flawlessly. So here is where I stand; when I make a selection the selection isn't always played. Basically the carriage hammer doesn't always engage and tri...

Re: Rock-Ola 464 Help

After chasing wires and checking the output from the amps and seeing that one channel was not sending out any volatage, when I moved the unit inside it must have been enough to finally break one of the .25a fuses in the main capacitor board. I checked for continuity and swapped around fuses and the ...

Re: Rock-Ola 464 Help

Ron, Hmm..interesting thought. I didn't notice that the output from the amp from the top comes down to the junction seen in the bottom picture lower righthand side (above) and then from there it is split; one set going to the woofers (the first picture's solder debacle) the the other set going to th...

Re: Rock-Ola 464 Help

Ron, It's been awhile since I have been able to work on my Juke with summer and some if the other projects I have been spending most of my time with. But tonight I had a little time and decided to start trouble shooting my amp/speaker problem. Well, months ago a friend and me moved the Juke from my ...

Re: Rock-Ola 464 Write-In Issues

From my experience it should be fairly easy to move. I would imagine that the motor is really putting forth some effort if you can't move it while the machine is off. But before you take apart the gear box try and see if you can lube it up a little being careful not to get it on the actuall brushles...
