Re: Where to buy radio vacuum tubes???

Research, research, research.......there are tons of places on line to buy tubes. Shop around for the best prices. Some Russain Ebay dealers sell multiple lots that are quite cheap and the tubes are very good quality - however - the shipping does take forever. Like 6 weeks. I bought like 24 6L6 tube...

Re: Philco 610: Hums but no reception?

First of all, yes - a cracked tube is no good. Also, just because the tubes light up does not mean they are good. Just about every township has somebody that can check tubes for you. Make sure you have a schematic or a tube placement chart that tells you which tube goes in which socket. If you get t...

Re: Seeburg 1000 Records

They really aren't worth that much mostly due to the odd size. Basically, only a collector that has a Seeburg machine designed for that would be interested. I do still see them around quite often and they sell for about 25 cents a piece. But, it's certainly worth listing it on Ebay. You just never k...

Re: Advice, please...

Most 78's are not that valuable as most are in average to below average condition. There is a gross misconception that just because they are old, they are priceless. Simply not true. The average 78 was played to death and slid together in stacks - grey looking in the grooves - played with steel need...

Re: Seeburg HF100R

Could be the trip switch is energized all the time or clutch needs adjusting. Aggravating I know. Process of elimination - Is it electrical or mechanical. Trip solenoid could be bad. Try all the clutch adjustments first and then if that is no good, then it is an electrical problem in the trip circuit.

Re: Wurlitzer 3700 AMP

Sounds like it just needs to be rebuilt. Solid state is out of my specialty. If it's a tube amp I can handle it. I would contact Bill Bickers at Jukebox Friday Night and get an opinion on it before I bought a new one. Maybe something simple as a transistor or cap that's bad.

Re: cobra needle

Also check jukebox parts houses. There are sites just for needles as well. They are kind of pricey these days.

Re: 78 RPM Record storage

Anything sturdy will do. Cardboard boxes or anything. I would consider that a temporary thing though. If you are bitten by the bug and plan to expand your collection of 78's I would highly recommend you build shelving units. Anticipate and don't build something too small that you are going to have t...
