Re: R-80 Transfer Arm Issue.

I added some lubrication to the trunnions and it now will lay down the record most times fine but then on it's way back up as the gripper arm is turning it seems to get stuck sometimes flinging the record off and I have to manually straighten the gripper arm back into place. I will end up taking eve...

R-80 Transfer Arm Issue.

Hey guys, Quick question. As of late when picking up a record my R-80 arm will get stuck on the turntable when putting the record down. It gets jammed to the point I have to physically clear it, most of the time the tone arm ends up underneath it by the time i can get it. this is only happening on A...

Re: Selector Assembly/ Search Unit

Wow. That's a lot of great information. Definitely appreciated.

I have the manual and I feel I am going to need it to reference and figure out what you guys are talking about. :)

I will definitely keep you updated and post my results as I go along.

Thanks again for the help.

Selector Assembly/ Search Unit

Sooo. been since before the winter that I have been out to the garage to play around with my R-80. Since I have owned it t has had issues with selecting the right song. While it did weird things here and there, I got it to the point where it would almost consistently pick the right song or the locat...

Re: R-80 indexes correctly after awhile.

Ok so when I got home I made 10 random selections. N3 -- Played Q3 P6 -- Played R6 T7 -- Played V7 L6 -- Played N6 L0 -- Played L0 R4 -- Played R4 A2 -- Got hung up and press another button to get the search unit to stop endlessly spinning. See below.) E7 -- Played E7 L9 -- Played L9 U7 -- Played U7...

R-80 indexes correctly after awhile.

So I have been putting my R-80 through some testing because since I picked it up it has had some issues with selecting the right song. General findings is it seems to get more accurate the more songs I would select. After making about 20 or so selections it was hitting every song selection perfectly...

Re: Back of cartridge rubbing on record.

The tone arm is on the left and I am fairly certain now that the cartridge is on backwards. :)

I am going to flip it around and see if that eliminates the rubbing.

Re: Back of cartridge rubbing on record.

One thought--is the cartridge "facing" the right way ? (if correct, it appears to be inserted into the tone arm "backwards"--wires connected at the "fat end" of the tone arm) Ron Rich So if I am looking at the inside of the jukebox and lift the tonearm up so it is comp...

Re: Back of cartridge rubbing on record.

Correct me if wrong...but, do you mean the black body of the cart is bottoming out on the record? If so, this is usually caused by using a copy needle while having too much tracking weight. Most of the copy styli have very weak cantilever damping and really can't be used for more than 2 grams max. ...

Back of cartridge rubbing on record.

Rowe R-80 and my problem is the back end of the stylus cartridge is rubbing against records as they spin.

Cartridge is on correctly and I measured tone arm pressure and it seems within range.

Rowe R-80 -- Records rubbing/scraping

Hey all, My R-80 has a little alignment issue and even after checking out the instructions for re-alignment in the manual I still have the same issue. The problem seems to be that the magazine has some "wiggle room" to either side. I unscrewed and then re-tightened the two screws on the ny...

Re: Sound cuts out and then loud hum-buzz. ( AMI R-80 )

I checked out everything on the preamp (which is a R-3788 B, by the way), put it all back together and connected everything back up. Great thing is there is no buzz....bad thing is there is still no sound. I am going to be looking at the 7 pin connector and wires from the tone arm to amp a little cl...

Re: Nicotine/yellowing of plastic.

Overall I may give it a gentle scrubbing with some dish soap and water and see what that takes off. I don't want to go crazy with chemicals and ruin things for the future.

Thanks to all for their input.
