It will never be 1949. I posted a reply telling you more about you set. Maybe it was deleted.

Re: Magnavox Suitcase Phonograph Questions

Lee, I sent the SAMS. My reply about trouble is about the PM system. Other forums use PM's and I just don't get sometimes nor mine make it thru the system. Post some pictures of your set if you can. ID with model number as well as the amp number as you have provided can be helpful to others searchin...

I don't know if you got my PM. My opinion on that system is too much trouble. However, scramble you email here and I will send SAMS Photofact for you amp.

Re: Magnavox

The Model Number is 1ST286R. But you need to provide the numbers off the chassis. Sounds as if it has a separate amplifier. It may be from late 50's to early 60's.

Re: Model Nomber

The guy on ebay is probably correct tvb5571, give or take, one could check rating of output transistors. But 40 watts just means your current draw is very low, with line at 120, it's about 1/3 amp. For an example a good microwave will draw 11 amps. And record guy, just what are you after, record cha...

Re: Help finding a needle for Zenith Cobra Matic

Good eyes 1958zenith. Really the OP's "been told it works" and no mention of radio/amp/changer (cycles proper or cartridge producing sound) working is a little shy of info. I hope the needle will do it. What is the model number of the console ameileen?

Re: Help finding a needle for Zenith Cobra Matic

"ok thanks for the help! one more question when buying a needle is there a way to know if I need the diamond or sapphire??" Since you are back to needles. The EV26 takes two needles, one gold colored diamond tip for 33 & 45 play, get a Pfanstiehl 352-D7 or comparable. You need a Pfanst...

Re: Help finding a needle for Zenith Cobra Matic

Hi, The numbers 142-92 and 93 on the cartridge are the Zenith cartridge numbers. The 26 is for the vendor/supplier, looking you will see EV which is Electro-Voice. Go to ebay, do a search on EV26 cartridge, include description in search, and you will see thousands of entries, or a few at least. This...

Connie, Regardless of condition, overhauled, perfect playing, great looking cabinet, it's not worth insuring. What's going to happen to it? Even if your agent would insure it the policy would cost too much. Home owners insurance against contents...you can have pictures, recordings, appraisals, you t...

The model number x-ref to a Truetone, Western Auto item dating to 1972. The cartridge, It's where the needle is inserted. Get the number off it and get one and see if that works. If not Sorry, I have no idea what to tell you to do next. I don't have data on sets from 1972. Maybe someone else can hel...

Re: help with silvertone stereo phonograph cabinet

What's the model number of your set. When you "hear the record playing just not thru speakers" there's a number of possibilities. But since you checked all that it's probably the cartridge.

Re: 1953 Zenith Cobramatic Console Help!!!

Sounds like you need to go to this site:

http://www.nostalgiaair.org/Resources/652/M0025652.htm

and review the data. I can't tell from your previously posted pictures but do you have spring 80 attached. Record changer mentioned this in previous post.
