Re: LPC mechanism dead

Ron, I did not check the voltage, just continuity with it off. I'll have to get back to you on 2. The mechanism is in scan mode, and moves freely up until about G2, where a wasp nest in the popularity counters is preventing it from moving any further  !! I sprayed the next and tomorrow when I...

LPC mechanism dead

I have an LPC-480 that doesn't want to do much of anything. The mechanism won't move when any selection is made, nor when the service switch is moved to scan. When the reversing relay is switched to move R-L there is a buzzing sound made from the mechanism, but no movement. Following procedure 15LPC...

Re: SMC1 playing random selections

Actually Ron, because I'm a curious person by nature I opened the MCU box and it has 1 board with your name and address on it. I assume I got lucky with this time  . So I saw the features listed in another post of yours, and at the risk of asking too much would it possible to get like a set of ...

SMC1 playing random selections

This SMC1 will play a random song every so often if I leave it unattended, but I can't find anything in the manual about random selections. Where should look into for this? Or should I just leave it alone and accept it as an "undocumented feature"?

Re: SMC Jukebox

Ron, thank you very much for your help! You just saved me at least a few hours poking around on the mechanism! I'll have to get around to fixing that later, but for the time being will it harm anything running without the CPA?
Again, thank you Ron.

Re: SMC Jukebox

I'm back, "stuff" got in the way but I should be good now. So you said it's telling me that one of the reject switches are closed or there is a short in the wiring somewhere. I assume that unplugging the volume control gets rid of the rear switch, leaving me with the mechanism and the ampl...

Re: SMC Jukebox

I've got a 160 select one for a LPC according to the pages. When plugging the cable in I can see the relay closing, and unplugging the mech cable has it opening. DId these have any "usual suspects" that would cause this more often than others? I'm digging throughall the pages I have for a ...

Re: SMC Jukebox

It trips when I plug it in. I have a page that has the contacts and what they do, of course they're letters instead of numbers. Would MB be the equivalent of 1M3 and O the equivalent of 1M4? If so, they are as you said they should be.

SMC Jukebox

I have a SMC jukebox that will reject a record upon needle drop. I know it isn't mechanical because it will play through with the mechanism plug out of the amplifier, but I have no schematics (coming soon in the mail I hope!) to let me get further with this. I also know it's not the switch to the le...
