Re: Wurlitzer 2310S Magazine Motor doesn't run

Bought this for 1 SEK for a couple of minutes ago! Dont know if it works, but for that price I have nothing to loose! What needle could be a good choice for this cartridge? Do they all handle the 4-5 grams load? Is it any idea to invest in a good (=expensive) RIAA phono pre amp, or will just anyone ...

Re: Wurlitzer 2310S Magazine Motor doesn't run

Could this be a candidate for my tonearm?
Dont know any dimensions but it seems to be similar to Shure M44
https://www.thakker.eu/en/pickup/tonar- ... ge/a-5209/

Is there any dimension issues to concider, except for the weight?

Regards/

Re: Wurlitzer 2310S Magazine Motor doesn't run

Your observations are correct regarding the dry gears, this photo is 1 year old (just after I disassembled the box). The photo was just for illustrating where I put the o-ring. Everything is greased and the gears are also well centered. There is a new beltwheel installed for 50Hz now. This is how it...

Re: Wurlitzer 2310S Magazine Motor doesn't run

It was the motor and particularly the gear shaft/beltwheel that was causing the rumble. I opend the motor cleaned it and added one shim and greased inside, adjusted everything for minimum backlash. Most important fix: Added one rubber o-ring between the beltwheel and bracket side, this removed most ...

Re: Wurlitzer 2310S Magazine Motor doesn't run

Thanx! I have four new rubber standoffs mounted, but they seems not to be enough efficient. If I hold the motor by my hands when running the rumble is significant lower so it must be in that area I should focus. I have looked at a pickup replacement earlier, the magnetic + RIAA seems attractive but ...

It's Alive!!!!

The rewinded magazine motor is mounted and after approx 40 years of silence the jukebox is on track again :-) http://s236.photobucket.com/user/gbak/media/Wurlitzer%202310S/speln_zpsut0h3tr5.mp4.html The next step will be to find out how to reduce the hum/noice from the AC turntable motor and tonearm.

Got the rewinded rotor yesterday, it is a real beauty!
Now it's time to see if the mech works and if I have done my work as I should!

Re: Wurlitzer 2310S Dome glass bad fitting

The gap is 5,5mm. If it is difficult to manufacture curved glass then a possibly new glass might have the same issue? When looking on photos of other 2300/2310 domeglass (mounted in the frame) on the web, most of them looks similar to the one I have. I will try to fill the gap with some kind of crys...

Re: Wurlitzer 2310S Dome glass bad fitting

The glass is mounted to the four profiles. No problem with the two straight profiles, they fit good. But when I mount the two bended alu profiles, there is a large gap between the front outside of the glass and the alu profile bended inner side The direction of the photo is parallell to the glass fr...

Wurlitzer 2310S Dome glass bad fitting

As the dome glass was missing when I bought the box I bought a new glass, (quite expensive). The fitting to the alu frame is really bad. There is a gap of 3/16"-1/4" between the glass and the sides of the frame and it doesn't look good! Worst of it is that there is nothing I can do about i...

Re: Wurlitzer 2310S Magazine Motor doesn't run

Yes, I have rotate the cam by hand to check bindings, and it seems like I have all parts and adjustments in place, but there is always something........ One thing I observed was that the record seems to wobble a little (to much???) after the three small hooks have griped it! But it's maby ok, could ...

Re: Wurlitzer 2310S Magazine Motor doesn't run

Thanks Brooks! The motor is away for rewinding as there must be a shortage between one or two windings! I hope to get it back the comming week. As it have been impossible to run the motor more then a few revs before blowing the fuse I dont know if the mech works or not. Have worked on the title stri...

Re: Wurlitzer 2310S Playrak blows 0.8 A fuse

Good News! Playrak works and each coin actuates the coil without blowing the fuse! I removed the coil that was 3 ohms and rerouted the leaders to the 5 ohms coil. Before doing that I winded off the copperleader from the 3 ohms coil to messure the diam and length of it. Length was 12 m and diam was 0...

Re: New member here on Phonoland!

Thank you! The toughest work is yet to come.......as the box doesnt play any records..........yet  I have to adjust everything, trace broken leaders, bad solderings & rewind bad coils/motors! But I'm shure it will be no problem to track the issues one by one with a little help from you all...
