Re: Grafolola-tell me if I'm crazy?

Great information Joe. Thank you. One thing that I'm sure also effects the sounds of my Graf is when whoever installed the Heineman motor, cut about a 1" diameter hole in the horn to accommodate the length of the Heineman's speed control barb. It was a really ugly hole with jagged-sharp edges. ...

Re: Grafolola-tell me if I'm crazy?

Thanks Joe, Everything's been rebuilt with all new gaskets, felt, and diaphragm. I went ahead and coated the internal horn and it did improve the sound quality. I will add a little grease to the tonearm. I'm sure you're right about the age of the machine. I've never really listened to anything this ...

Grafolola-tell me if I'm crazy?

I've been working on the 1917 Mahogany Grafonola with a Heineman motor. The thing was junk when I bought it. After working on it I'm really happy with the way it looks and the mechanics but the sound with the tin grafonola internal horn is really tinney. I'm thinking of coating the horn with a Rust-...

Re: Grafonola Tone arm

I tried turning a few degrees then rocking the 2 parts to see if they might be notched but they did not separated. This phono is like a mutt. It has Grafonola case and internal horn and a heinemen motor so it's not really worth much but sounds great.. Tonight I sanded the Tone arm down to 500 grit a...

Re: Grafonola Tone arm

Ya Ron, I'm thinking the same thing. I've seen pictures of these separated and I've seen the individual pieces sold but they may have been from a different type of tone are.

Thanks
Bill

Grafonola Tone arm

The tone are on my Grafonola Eclipse is looking pretty bad and I'd like to replate it. How does it come apart between the elbow and the taper arm. There's no set screw and I really don't want to force it. Here's a picture

Grafonola identification?

top2.jpg side1.jpg Can anyone identify this Grafonola motor? Anyway I think it's a Grafonola motor. I've looked all over the net and can't seem to find anything similar. I've just finished rebuilding the motor and it runs great. Absolutely silent and a consistent RPM. It came from a really beat-up ...
