Re: Seeburg Q100 new owner

Thanks, Rob. It does not make that solenoid clack, so you are likely right about the credit unit. Thanks, both of you, for the info about the styli, it jives with what I have read... $79/pair is what I saw, not per. Matt, no one's in a tizzy, we were having an adult conversation. Do you know what th...

Re: Seeburg Q100 new owner

I intend to learn as much about the machine as I can. Knowing my limitations, I did have a professional service it before bringing it home. At this point, it's a matter of sound quality, and wanting the coin-op feature to work. I realize that, as a matter of course, the machine will need other atten...

Re: Seeburg Q100 new owner

Hi Ron, Thanks. What else can I provide about the machine? It's a q100 SR, it has a red tone arm that says "Seeburg Stereo" on it. When I open the top, the left front corner has a three-position switch (spring loaded to the left, center, and right), with a red button next to it. The phonog...

Seeburg Q100 new owner

Hi folks, I'm not a "new" owner, really. I bought this box a year ago, it was really clean but didn't work. Really in excellent cosmetic shape. I know a guy who fixes phonographs, and he had never done a jukebox before, so he took it on, in his spare time, and just got it back to me. He ba...

Re: Magnavox console question

Why is it your job to scold anyone? Yeah, I stated it was a can of worms, clearly my mistake, I think that much was clear. When someone makes a mistake, and is asking for help, they don't need someone calling them a fool. I think the tone of my original post was: a) I screwed up, and b) I'm upset wi...

Re: Magnavox console question

Thanks, Thom. I was able to carefully solder them back on. I cleaned up the terminals and the connectors, and I ordered a new stylus. Are there manuals for these phonographs out there? I'll chalk this one up to live and learn, but its an uneasy feeling when you're diving blindly in. And don't ask th...

Re: Magnavox console question

Were you under the impression that I didnt know that? Honestly, what was the point of your reply, other than to be condescending? You didnt answer any questions set forth in the original post. I work on cars and see plenty of shadetree mechanics that require my help when theyre not fully sure what t...

Magnavox console question

Hi, I'm a newbie, who has opened a bit of a can of worms. I found a beautiful old Magnavox console at an estate sale, and, after having an expert go through it, it works well. I noticed, over the past year, that the sound quality was diminishing, and that the stylus was jumping around, even on recor...
