Seeburg M 100B several problems

So I have been restoring a Seeburg M 100 B and it has been going pretty good. I have gone through all of the selection bank contacts, repainted the entire record rack, popularity meter... I installed a cap kit in the amp and reciever. It is playing records now. The two problems I am having now are:
one side of the pickup doesn't seem to have enough tension. I have adjusted the spring slide and even "snipped" a bit of spring off, and it still doesn't seem to have enough pressure. I don't have a sensitive enough scale to set the tension per the book.
The other problem is the audio is really "tinny" sounding. The bass adjust doesn't seem to work. I have switched out some of the tubes but it doesn't seem to make a difference. I have cleaned the ganged pot as well.
The 2 problems listed above should be the last problems I have to resolve. I just took out the selection assembly tonight so I will be going through that soon.
Any help you can offer would be great.

About the last thing you should do is "snip" any spring. Springs, on the tone arm are designed to supply even pressure through-out a "range" of motion. "Snipping" changes this relationship, and is detrimental ( in this case) to both needles and records. You will now need to purchase the correct length springs for the type of cartridge you are using, and determine what your problem was, in the first place.
As for the "tinny" sound-some of this comes from an improperly sprung needle, bad needles, or cartridge problems. It could also be that your amplifier needs to be re-built, or you have a bad speaker.

Ron, as usual you're on the mark.
Modifying mechanicals in an attempt to correct a problem is just creating another problem.

I have humbly recieved my slap on the wrist. I did order new springs and new needles for the other style redhead pickup that I found laying in the juke. I decided to review the cap kit that I installed in the rec amp. I have a few questions now. Specifically with C17 and C18. This is a MRA1-L6 by the way. The schematics don't represent pins 6 of any of the 6V6's, yet there are some odd connections that are physically on the tubes but not represented properly on the schematics. i.e. C-18 is at a node of R29, 30, & 31 on one leg the other leg of C18 is at a node of R36, R36, & R47. The way it is wired is one leg meets R29-31 at pin 6 of a 6V6 and the other leg goes to pin 6 of the next tube. When I replaced these caps, I desoldered the old and installed the new, I only referenced the schematic for the cap numbers.
If there are any tech bulletins or something of the sort to clear this up please let me know.

There is no internal connection to pin 6 on a 6V6 so that lug on the socket is just being used as a tie point. You'll find this from time-to-time, it's cheaper than mounting a terminal strip.
