okim sorry lets see if I can explain it better ,theres two mechanisms one with pins that you can get 2 when you open front door ,and one with records init.when I push lets say j-2 the one at bottom with pins you can here spin but the one with records in it wont .but when you put on service and flip switch on back it will work normally one time.

The bottom "mechanism" you speak of is the pin bank. When you make a selection, the pin for that particular selection pops up. You can also gently push these pins up by hand to manually select. The top component that holds the records is commonly called the "carousel". So, it sounds like your machine is selecting properly, but you can't get the carousel to turn on its own, but can with the manual run/eject lever, correct? Do you have the 3600 manual? There is a good trouble-shooting guide in that manual that points you directly to the culprit(s). If you don't have this manual, and I don't have mine with me right now, but can check this evening after I get home.
