rowe ami help ?

just got a 1972 rowe ami model mm6 its not the lavender ,bourbon, also when playing there is intermitent noise any help would be great this is the first rowe ami i have in my collection full model number on the id plate is mm6-04-15

Can you narrow it down some? Is it an audio sound, like the amplifier, or is it mechanical in nature. Does it happen at the same time of the record playing, did you lift the tonearm???
