Hi all, first time poster, hoping y'all can help me out here. A while ago I picked up this curious little end table that had a built in stereo speaker in it. I wasn't able to identify it for the longest time and was about to wire in a simple amplifier to modify it into a sort of oversize Ipod dock but then I found a picture of the complete setup on a vintage furniture store's website and now I'd like to get the main unit that houses the other speaker as well as the turntable and radio/amplifier. Can anybody here tell me the model number for this unit? So far searching for GE end table stereo hasn't lead to anything and I figure having the model number would greatly help out the search. I've attached a picture. thanks guys!

Yes, welcome to Jerilock_GE,

Isn't it amazing how these old relics are disguised in home furnishings. All this new stuff out there, all black-faced, in your face, doesn't impress me.

When you can conceal audio components into a secretary desk, drum table, armouire, dry sink, credenza...etc., I consider that true innovation. I bet if some young kids walked through some of our houses, they would be totally clueless as to what was hidden in these cabinets, unless they had interest and a mentor to show them what was out there in decades past. Then again, some of these things can be rather huge, and is not feasible when space is at a premium.

Give me a blanket and a pillow, and I'll sleep ontop of one of these huge Maggies, or sleep under my grand piano. Then again, it's 9-feet long, so I could probably stretch out accross the top. --BB

Those were made from about 1967 thru 1969, don't recall the model number, but there was a complete
unit on Tampa craigslist recently.

Hey orthophonic could you please let me know some info regarding the craigslist ad if you have it? I just saw your reply, wish I'd seen it sooner >_<
