Hello I am having a few problems with my Seeburg AY160 Jukebox. When the unit is turned on it automatically starts trying to play a record and it keeps rejecting and trying to play the same selection, it will not scan at all and seems to be stuck in one spot until the unit is turned off but when starting it up again the same thing happens, if anyone has a solution please let me know.

Thank You

Look to see if the selection pin is stuck in the play position.

I saw one modified once so it played the same record each time it passed it. This drove people crazy if nobody made any other selections, because it just kept repeating the same record over and over.

If you have ruled out a stuck safety pin or warped record (both could cause this) you will have to go deep into the mech (you should have a good descriptive manual to do this)

It sounds to me like the clutch is stuck in the play position.
The mech has only one motor that scans and turns the turntable.
when the clutch jams, one record is moved in and out and back in and back out of the play position stoping only when you shut off the machine.

In order to get to the clutch you must remove the record rack as it blockes your access to the clutch. (four screws )

when clutch is in view I clean the whole drive assembly with brake clean available at all auto parts stores.

of course the unit must be re lubed, I use a good spray lubricant that I get from where I work (I don't know where to buy it)

Try not to get a lot of the lube on the safty pin or it will jam and cause
the same problem you are trying to solve.

You might be able to free the clutch without all the disassembly by removing the records (no spray on records that way)and spraying down the back side between the record rack and the upright shaft on the back side of the scanning mechanism where the clutch is located and then also spraying some
lube

Thank You very much for your help on this problem, I will do what you say on this and see what happens. I do real good on the cosmetics of boxes but need a little help on the mechanics.
