rockola 440, random play??

by bigwedgies » Thu Aug 08, 2013 8:18 pm

recently picked up a rockola 440, it seems to be set to a random play?
it was not functioning when i got it, and after some cleaning and degunking, it plays fairly well. but i cannot choose the record it just plays whatever it wants.
i have read through my manual and i do not see a setting for a random play, but cant seem to figure this out.
the kep selections dont seem to affect anything.

needs other tlc, but right now this would get me up and running and be happy

This unit has what I would call "mechanical memory" as are most of the RockOlas of that vintage. Selections that were made when it was taken out of service are still sitting there, waiting to play. My suggestion would be to let it finish playing all the selections. It should eventually stop and go into standby mode.

Or, just push any "selected pin" to the non-selected state with your finger-- Ron Rich
