Seeking help on Rock Ola Mystic 478

Hello all,

I recently purchased this machine which does turn on, but not functioning fully. Got a good deal on it and always wanted to have one of my own. Not to mention the records are mid 70's and earlier which brings back a lot of nostalgia for me. As someone who has owned and serviced several Pinballs over the years, I do have some skills in troubleshooting and electronics common sense. Hopefully somebody has some suggestions for me in the meantime until I can get ahold of a manual. Here is what I know:

The previous owner had the Jukebox since the mid 90's and said it had always worked great up until the last few years when it wasn't being used. It now picks up the same record over and over. I have not done anything to it yet other than tested it and opened up the panel to look inside. Something tells me this might be a simple issue such as resetting a component as in a Pinball machine. That said, I am new to this machine. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Regards,
-Joe

Hi
I had this issue recently with a rockola 488 and it was one of the ic's on the logic board. I'll check which one and get back to you

Clones,
Can't thank you enough! I was hoping someone here had encountered the same problem.

Clone,

Would it be the ic701 by chance? Isn't this the same one found in the hit tracker / profit module? Could I swap the ic's out of the latter and put in the logic board?

Hi
No it wasn't the one from the hit tracker, I changed that many about on the logic board I can't be specific but the ic's that are available are fairly standard and easily available, one of them stopped the selections repeating
CD4069
74HC14N
CD4050BE
CD4011BE
CD4503BCN

So I'm found a new logic board at 130 bucks...ouch. Haven't yet purchased it yet. But now the hit counter is not lighting up. Will this affect the logic board not causing the record to make it to the turntable? Is there anything else I should check before dropping the dough on this? I dont mind spending the $ if it will solve the problem though. Thanks for the help Clones.

Hi Joe,
A "NEW" board--possible, but---I would be VERY skeptical of this- ??

Hi Joe,
IMHO, Vic Glass is an honest seller--

I know they are legit. Thee $130 dollar question is if this part will solve my problem.

Hi
The hit display light doesn't make any difference, from what i have seen before has to do with the 9.6 volts i mentioned before or else loose or faulty connetions, the 130 US dollars would be about right for a working one maybe a small bit pricey, the logic board and profit setter don't come up that often for sale on ebay, with any machine its a bit of a gamble
