vintage zenith record player/radio console

Hi everyone -

I was hoping someone might help me. My sons just recently inherited a vintage Zenith record player/radio console that I think is either late 40's or early 50's. It's a console and the record player is on the upper left side and the radio is on the upper right side. The wood looks to be mahagony and has the beige/gold color netting for the speakers below. There are two drop-down door (they do not pull out - just drop down) openings - one for the record player and one for the radio. The radio is in the half-moon shape with three rows of numbers for the station selection. There is dial to select the station. I can get a photo but I don't have one right now. With the description that I've given, can anyone give us any info about it. The cabinet is solid but has scratches.

Thanks for your help,

Jeri

Tell me more about the record changer:

- What speeds does it have? (One speed = 78, STD = 78, and SLOW = 33)

- Is the metal baseplate or plinth rectangular, or does it have another shape? Motorola made teardrop and cathedral shaped plinths.

- Does it have an overarm, or a side shelf?

Can you post pictures?

This information will help me date it.
