I have a rowe R-91 and when I turned the volume knob nothing happens. It seems to be stuck on the lower end of the volume.I replaced the volume switch and now when I turn the knob I get a little difference but not much.Is there something else that I need to check

What's a "volume switch" ? Are speaking of the "pot" on the rear of the phono-- are you sure it's connected to the amp (correctly) ? What did you replace it with? Is anything else ( like the remains of a remote control) still connected to the amp, in any way ? If all is good, you will need to have the amp rebuilt. I do rebuild them--contact me "off forum", if you wish. Ron Rich

yes, thats what I mean the pot.I replaced it with one I got from a reputable jukebox parts guy.Its been working fine until one day last week when I turned it on the volume was in the low position and would not get louder,so I thought it might be the pot went bad. There is nothing else hooked up like the remote contol.Ive had this juke for about 6 years

I suspect your amp has failed--not un-common--check the needle also--

Hello mountaindew ,

If you are in doubt re the wiring on the volume control, make up a test 10k ohm log pot, wire a cable from one end of the pot and connect it to pin 1 with a link to pin 5. connect a wire from the wiper to pin 3 of the plug that goes into the volume plug.

If the volume is ok with this test pot then there is an issue with your volume control wiring.

Amplifier is old enough to need work.

Check for bad solder joints on all the boards, particularly at the connector header pins.

Probably time to replace all the electrolytic capacitors on the boards.

How do you know it's working right ? If so, pull the mute connector from the amp, and the volume control connector. now touch the two hot pins (1 and 5) with your finger--should get a buzz/hum through the speaker system--even amount of hum for each pin-
-what, if anything, happens ??

OK--it's almost certain that you have internal amp problems--especially if no one has "messed" with the output connectors--
If you are skilled in electronics--fix it--if not, I strongly suggest that it is best to send it to someone (like me) that has experience with that unit. PM me, if you wish -- Ron Rich

Ron is correct, if you shorted the 2 volume wires properly, the volume would be full on. (opposite action, no connection, zero sound.)
