I forgot about Wyatt's. While I've never dealt with him personally, I have heard good reports from those who have.
When you get them, they will probably be wound up with a wire around them. Just drop them in the barrel & cut the wire, then remove the wire. When the motors together & you wind it up, they should hook onto the rivets automatically.

You make it sound easy. I would me amazed if I could get enough clearance to get a cutter between the spring and barrel to cut that wire. The other issue is greasing the spring. If dropped in, how is the entire spring surfaces coated? I'll take pics when the spring comes.

Actually, it's better if you don't have much clearance, because you can push the spring into the barrel and the wire gets pushed off by the barrel. You usually find there's a bit of clearance though.
To be honest, I don't like cutting the wire while it's in the barrel, but that's what 99% of the guys do. I prefer to cut the wire with the spring in a sack & hand feed them in.
I usually put about 2 teaspoons of grease in the bottom of the barrel before putting the spring in, and once it's in, I add 2 or 3 more into the centre coils. That's normally enough to get distributed around the barrel once it's wound up.

Well, in trying to save $$ and buying from Wyatts Musical instruments, I got royally screwed. He messed up my order and is difficult to deal with. Live and learn.

Oh no. Did he send the wrong springs? Sorry to hear you're having difficulties with him too. I haven't heard of this before from Wyatt, but then I don't know more than a couple people who've dealt with him either.
Most people seem to get everything from George at Great Lakes. While his mainspring prices may be more, I really think you'd be paying the extra for quality rather than pure mark up. I've never bought springs from George, but everything else I've got from George has been top quality & very reasonably priced. I've always found him to very easy to deal with, and had great communications with him via email too.
I did once hear a complaint from a guy who paid for a part but never received it. George keeps good records though, and was able to provide the guy with postal receipts etc, and even offered to replace the part at half price for the fellow. It's always a good idea to pay the extra $2 or $3 to have parts registered to protect both the buyer & seller, and then it's USPS responcibility to make sure the parts arrive safely.
