Hey all,

Today I found this awesome 1960's something magnavox micromatic turntable. It sounds great. It's in amazing condition.

Only one slight problem. No where on the cabinet or inside is there a model number nor any type of number for me to use. I am going to open it up from behind tomorrow and search for numbers that way. But I really need to find a stlylus for it.

I want to play my records on it, but like I said, lack of needle makes it impossible. So what can I do to find out what needle I need?

here are some pics.

update: went down to take a look on the cartridge, and I see the words "electro voice" and the number 505.

That cabinet is beautiful! Since you have the cartridge shown in the first pic, get the number off of it...that will match you with the correct stylus. If there is no Magnavox number stamped on it, if you look closely, it may be engraved (for lack of a better term) with something like "Electro-Voice xxx" or "Astatic xxx". There should be some type of designation on the side facing up in your pic. If not, check the underside --BB

Oops...my bad.

I didn't scroll all the way down to your update on the cartridge. That's exactly what you need to get your needle. I also took a peek at mine and it's an ElectroVoice 506. Don't know what the differences are. --BB
