Help with Garrard 3000 record player in a dumont console

Hello,
I have been trying to fix my record player for a while now to no avail. It is operating a few BPM slow, and so the tunes all sound a bit lower. It was crapping out altogether sometimes but now it is just consistently slow.

I have taken apart the motor and cleaned and re-lubed all the parts, but when i was taking apart the auto changer function there now is an extra circlip that I can't figure out where to put. The auto function no longer works.

How can i get it back to speed and get the auto portion to work? Any help is appreciated.

It also is sputtering once per revolution, pretty sure its auto changer related

Again, I hate to say this but.....
Locate a servicer experienced in record changers, because putzing around by the inexperienced crowd always causes multiple issues.
You've now created a situation totally impossible to even diagnose over the internet,

You will have to sign up, but it is free.

Typical causes are sagging motor mounts due to deteriorated rubber grommets.
Hardened idler puck that slips.
Gummed up oil in the idler linkage that hold the puck to the turntable and motor pulley.
Glazed or scored motor bearings.
Oil residue on the puck, motor pulley and inner rim of the t-t.
Oddball causes can be missing or improperly stacked turntable bearing and washers.

It is best not to tinker. See if the manual helps.
