Replacement Motor for Seeburg console?

All though I haven't been around these machines very long,it seems pretty clear that the models that were designed for 33 1/3. Most all seem to have trouble with 45 rpm speed in their old age.How many have just resolved themselves to hunting down and playing those goofy 33 ep's while they wait for the motor to warm back to life?.
Is it possible to replace these motor's with something new? Where can they be found and what can one expect to pay?

"Most all"have trouble because their "owners" did not follow directions, on their "care and feeding" ! I have about a 95 % chance of making it all better by following instructions I outlined in my Seeburg Mechanism Guide.
If you wish to purchase one, I have used, Bodine, KCI-42 A-1, motors, that I have re-habbed for sale. This will not necessarily cure the problem ---PM me. Ron Rich

I have worked on several of these over the years and have never needed to replace a motor . Those motors were almost bullet proof . Most of the problems came after an old jukebox has sat for years and the oil got hard or stiff .

All you need to do is remove the motor . There should be 4 wires . Mark them and remove the motor . Take the 4 bolts out and pull the motor apart and clean it all up . Lacquer thinner works good to remove old oil . Re-oil the bearings with a light oil and put it all back together .

A service manual will not cover this . A service manual was made to do regular routine service and does not cover detailed restoration .

You are correct when you say a Service Manual will not over this--exactly the reason I wrote my "Seeburg Mechanism Guide"-- it's covered in my Guide, as are many things not in the manual--- Ron Rich
