Hello all!

I've been browsing the forum these past few days and figured if anyone could help me, it'd be the collective knowledge on this site. I purchased a radio about a week ago and have been scouring the internet for information on it. I haven't been able to find a thing. Not even a hint of the model number anywhere. All that's done is make me more curious about this particular radio. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I've attached a few photos I took this morning to help. Sorry for the bad lighting; I can take new ones if needed. The label on the back gives the following information.

It's dead and just sitting there looking beautiful right now. I'd also love to fix it up. I have plenty of electronics experience but after reading through repairs of these vintage radios online I think I'd rather learn a lot more before I touch it.

I haven't made any calls to them but I have hunted through different sears sites on the internet. In fact I even managed to find a few vintage radios and part numbers on their Sears parts direct website. Nothing about this model though. I'll make a call and see if anyone can point me in the right direction but I won't hold my breath.

Just called Sears Parts Direct. They gave me little to go on. Looking up the model number came up with nothing. Looking up the radio chassis number came up with a service manual that gives me an estimated date of 1962. It doesn't make reference to any specific models however. The woman on the phone did mention that a company called LXI seemed to have built the unit. I've looked around for contact information but no luck. LXI is too vague; I'm getting all sorts of matches that have nothing to do with this.

What is there to know about it?
It's an early 60's Sears Silvertone brand console stereo.
They're lovely pieces, and sound great when working properly.
It's got tubes in it - and high voltages.
It's most likely due for a complete restoration to make it safe to use/plug in, and perform reliably and properly.
Not something a novice or tinkerer can usually do.

Unless you're armed with the needed test equipment resources and tools, along with the service manual, it's best to let someone experienced restore it for you, then you can enjoy the thing without a worry.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll contact a local technician when I get some free time. But I don't appreciate the "who cares" attitude. Obviously I do and obviously so do you to some above average degree if you bother to log into this site. I'll continue seeking out more information because I'm interested.

I really don't know what information you seem to need.
Asides from the vintage status and obvious operation of it - the controls are self-explanatory for most people to understand.
