You are now able to register if you´re interested. You can use Firefox, Internet Explorer and Safari to visit it.
Some spelling mistakes will be corrected within the next weeks.

Now opera works too.
Thanks to "edison_triumph" for sending me information about a little mistake there.

Hi Fritz:

Nice looking site. When you have a chance, could you please post a jump to Phonoland (http://www.phonoland.com) under your Recommended Links list? As you know, in addition to acoustic gramophones & phonographs, etc., we draw in a variety of collectors of post-WWII electric gramophones and radios, who might find the link useful.

I would like to ask the visitors of the site something.
Hope its ok :

Do you like the site ?
Do think it was good to create it, or don´t you need it ?
Would you like to use all its functions without beeing registered ?
and at least
will you register there or just visit it sometimes ?

Thank you very much.

Fritzu

p.S: could you set a link to my page too ?
You´ve got a collection of links for "gramophones and phonographs"
Thanks

Hi Fritz:

Thanks for posting the Phonoland link on your site. If you would like your site's link posted on Phonoland, you'll have to get in touch with the site's administrator. (As a global moderator, I don't have access to Phonoland's code, and cannot add URLs to the Links sections. Only the administrator can do this.) You can get in touch with Marcel by sending a message via the "Contact Us" page -- http://www.phonoland.com/contact or via private message.

As for your question regarding whether or not another phonograph related site is really needed, I'm not sure. There are quite a number of websites devoted to the hobby at this time, as well as newsgroups and private associations.

Currently, the Old Time Victrola Music Message Board seems to be attracting the most hits from phonograph enthusiasts located around the world. In comparison, the traffic on Phonoland is relatively slow, with the exception of the (1950s-1970s) electric-era gramophones and radios, along with jukeboxes. There is a growing interest in this area--especially among the younger crowd -- kids in their 20s -- who grew up with CDs and web-based music, for whom phonographs, vinyl LPs, etc., are a novelty.

You may actually do better by also hosting your site in German or French, since many of the more popular sites I've seen are in English only, which leaves many people out.

In any event, good luck.
