Replacing motor mounts

by wingnut049 » Tue Aug 16, 2016 6:37 pm

I have a Wurlitzer 2504S. It's been suggested by my tech the the hum I get is motor feedback and I should replace the motor mounts. Is this something that I (with very little mechanical skill) can do myself? If I can see pictures or a video (there isn't anything on Youtube) I can, pretty much, follow this instructions. Thanks, Jeff

Hi Jeff,
I would assume, that if you have enough skills to select, and turn the correct sized ("ignition") wrench, You CAN "do it" ! .
Another thing that is a common hum cause in them is a lack of proper oil, throughout the drive train system One slight word of caution-I would purchase the metric type of mounts, as I have found recent "SAE" thread type mounts are NOT made of the correct grade rubber.

Hi Ron -
I'm positive the oil is correct. A "pm" service was done on it by a mechanic that's been working on jukeboxes for many, many years. He's based out of Fla. and I live in NC. It took a year to get him up here to service the jukebox. I've contacted him regarding replacing the motor mounts. Obviously, when it comes to this jukebox I have a great deal of patience. :-)
