I am having a difficult time finding out where to buy a replacement cartridge for my newly found 1960s console radio phonograph. I get barely any sound out of the phono. Radio sound is strong. The console model is 1ST659A. The cartridge has the number 560305-1 on it. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Ruth

Hey, Ruth...

Welcome to the Board! Before ruling out a faulty cartridge, please check your cartridge wires and connections underneath leading to the preamp section of your unit.

Scrap the console model number, but you are spot-on with the cartridge number. I've never seen a 560305, but with the numbers being so close, it may be similar to the popular Magnavox 560345. You may find other numbers on your cartridge like an Electro-Voice EV275 or an Astatic 165D. --BB

The Magnavox cartridge 560305-1 is nothing like the EV275 assembly.
Basically the 560305-1 is an EV149D in a wider bracket. 3G, 0.5V

Either a 149D can be snapped into the bracket, or a 150D, with a tad more stylus pressure (4-5G), or get an Astatic 461.
