wurlitzer 2800 blowing a fuse

by Mark H » Fri Dec 20, 2013 4:03 pm

Hello everyone...

I am working on a wurlitzer 2800 and it is blowing the 8/10 amp fuse on the junction box. I am going to try and troubleshoot the cause later today, but I though I would post it and see if this has happened to anyone or if anyone has any experience with this ?

Thanks, Mark

Mark,
Going from my great, but not too long memory--check the start and reversing switches in the electrical selector--IF, it's doing this on all selections. If only on one letter, it's a burned out letter coil. Hint-Do NOT over fuses this ! In fact, I suggest a 6/10, or 1/2 amp fuse till you discover/fix the problem ! Ron Rich

Hi Ron,

Thank you, it was a simple problem in the switch, no more blown fuses. I appreciate your expertise ! Wish you had a book on Wurlitzer Mechs. I have an another issue, but I think I will make up a new post since it is a seperate issue.

Thanks,
Mark
