Probably a simple question with a simple answer..

by nagamitsu » Mon Mar 31, 2014 7:06 pm

At work at moment, but when I get home tonight, my Shure M17 cartridge has arrived for my NSM Festival. Since there was no cartridge on the tone arm of this carriage, I don't know which of the four wires hooks up to which prong on the cartridge.

If anyone knows and could oblige, maybe describing which color to each prong if the carriage is orientated to the record (top down).

Thanks in advance! :D

Tim

Or is it a standard? I'd still need to figure out what prongs on the cartridge are considered ground.

Left = white wire
Left Ground = blue wire

Right = red wire
Right Ground = green wire

Found that on Shure website, but just a generic phono cartridge wiring indication

My apologies, seeing the cartridge for first time in person, I see it is clearly marked on it for L/R and the grounds. :D
