Seeburg HSC3BC dial up

I recently purchased a Seeburg HSC3BC from the original owner. She stopped using the unit many years ago when it stopped working. It was still in her living room in the heat and AC. Overall very good shape. The radio works and has good sound. When I opened it up I saw that a record was still in PLAY mode but the drive belts were deteriorated and basically gone. Must have broke mid play. She never bothered to have anyone look at is so there it sat. I purchased 2 new belts and fired it up. The record turned and played and when it was finished, it was put back in its place. The changer mech then cycled back and forth twice as it is supposed to and stopped it the correct starting position. I put a few more albums in and hit PLAY ALL and it went and pulled the first one and proceeded down the line playing side 1 then side 2 then on to the next. The problem comes in when I try to dial in a specific record to play. When I dial in any 2 digit number, nothing happens, and I mean nothing. Not a click or a relay trip or nothing. The unit also has the remote unit and it is the same symptom. I even disconnected the remote jumper to take it out of the circuit to verify no issues there. Still nothing.

Any ideas where to start? I purchased the Service Manual from Victory Glass, but not a lot of info on this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
Where are you getting that model number ? I have never seen one so marked. If it is the "original", model run it is an updated one--but if it went thru all the updates, it should say it's a HSC-3 U, on the ID tag.
I strongly advise you not to operate it till you have at the very minimum, oiled the play motor (both cups), several times, with a 20 wt. ND oil. These motors have a nasty "habit"of seizing, and ruining the bearings, when run dry !
As for the dial portion not operating, this could be either in the dial itself, or the CCC/stepper section.
This section was only minimally "updated"--look at the step-up gears (wheels). If white plastic, I assume that's the reason you can not dial a selection. If black colored, you will need to trouble shoot the system to find the failure---
