LIGHTS DON'T WORK

Hello all. Still a work in progress on my 453 Rockola. Playing pretty good now with still a few problems but getting there. I can't get the florescent light bulbs to work. Have replaced them with new ones and they blow immediately upon installation. Have replaced the starters to no avail. A little description of what I'm doing. To start, I'm going to tackle one at a time. On the front door panel where the speakers are located, I'm getting 120 volts on the female side of the white 3 prong electrical power plug where the wires from the lamps and starter plug into. I'm wondering if I should be getting 120 or does the lamp ballast provide as a step down transformer also, maybe I'm blowing the lamps with too much power. Any ideas? Thanks Mike

Mike.
That's the symptom of bad ballasts--also replace the starters and lamps-- Be sure to use only the correct size starters, and only those which say "condenser" on them.

Hello Ron and thanks for the reply. I do suspect the ballasts. I just put in new starters but they don't say "condensor" on them. Thanks
