RCA VMT25-S

by SeanGT » Fri Jun 27, 2014 6:06 am

Hello, I recently acquired a RCA VMT25-S from a garage sale. It's in working condition - we played a few albums on it and the FM tuner works flawlessly. I'm looking for someone in the Atlanta area that can tune it and check to see if it needs any servicing. I want to make this last as long as possible and in as good a condition as possible.

Wise considerations indeed.
But good luck finding a knowledgable tech down your way, as I understand, they're scarce as hens teeth these days.

It's important that the record changer is completely gone over to rid it of the old grease, and relubed, as well as the motor, along with the dryrotted rubber parts.

The radio's chassis and power supply will require surgery as well - they ALL do by now.

Been there, done enough of them.
Got another one coming in this weekend.
The Internet is a marvelous thing, however it's not a good substitute for actually being there.
