Thanks all,
Would it be OK to install an i-pod adapter sold by "cdadapter" in this machine? Would I have to make any other upgrades to do this? The juke currently has the 3.2 chip installed. Thanks.

Why not just rebuild the player you currently have. Quality parts are available for a very reasonable price. I rebuild them all the time and they have lasted for years of play. I can rebuild mine for around $30. Just a thought.

Thanks Kentmore. Sorrow I haven't responded, staying at hospital with the wife. As for rebuilding the player myself, I have no experience with electronics therefore am not confident in my ability to accomplish this. I would need very detailed instructions. I suppose I could try. Nothing ventured, nothing gained! Thanks for the response.

Hi Francis,
I hope your wife is well soon !
As for rebuilding it--I have rebuilt hundreds of them -- you will need to determine which player is installed in your phono ( it most likely has been swapped since it was new), and determine if a re-build "kit" is available. Once done, about 10 % of them fail within a month, some within seconds of installation ( which is why I quit re-building them !) ( I will still do it--but NO guarantee at all ! ) Ron Rich

Thanks Ron. Wife had bypass surgery six weeks ago, was not doing well, would up at emergency Sat. , admitted, change of medication, doing much better, came home today.
I was very reluctant to try a rebuild on my own. You have reinforced that reluctance! I will go with my original plan, the i-pod from cd adapter, or a refurbished player from ENCO.

Please wish her well for me--a friend of mine had that 5-6 years ago, and is doing very well now--but recovery was slow/tough ---
