Sounds like the polarity may be reversed on the wires leading to the defective speaker. Should just be a simple procedure: turn off & unplug the unit from ALL power sources, unscrew the wires at ONE end (I'd suggest the speaker end since it will likely be easier to access, but I'm not familiar with your model), switch their location (the one on the "left/top" goes to where the one on the "right/bottom" was, and vice versa. These are approximate locations - again, I'm NOT familiar with your model), and rescrewing them in place. The first time you power it up, have someone montior the switched wires for excessive heat. If they heat up too much, you made a mistake somewhere, which would tell you that the notion of it being a "polarity" issue is incorrect. Unplug the unit, re-switch the wires, and go to your local library for an older book on radio electronics (newer ones might not cover or consider your components).

I'm very curious to see if this is the solution, so please post your results when you are finished. Best wishes to you.
Rock on!

I would say that something is wrong with the amplifier or the cartridge.
